Liakhovich always had porous defense. His offense is elite, but you can't be elite without ability to protect yourself.

Helenius is a power puncher, probably the hardest puncher in the game today with great finishing instincts. His skills need development. He probably needs to get in shape.

macwit2cs You're probably right about Helenius against the Klitschos, but remember Wald. Klitscho was down two or three times against Sam Peter in their first fight. He has been knocked out by Brewster in their first fight. Don't forget what Corrie Sanders did him... I'm just saying against Helenius, there is a good chance he would be counted out again. I am no boxing expert and that's just my opinion.

The punching power, the size, and the basics are there. Helenius needs someone to bring him to his fullest potential. A fitter, busier Helenius who takes control of the fight and uses his height properly could be a real force to be reckoned with.

@sigwart I agree 100percent. Against both Samuel Peter and Liakhovich Helenius had trouble early on. Against Peter Robert looked like he was losing until a very out of shape Peter tired and he brutally knocked him out. Furthermore Liakhovic had success in thie fight in the early going. Helenius has tremendous power, and a great chin. He's big and very talented. Give him another 2 years minimum before he's ready for Wladimir.

I've read some post where people are saying that Helenius is a good fighter but probably will never be anything great. He beat Lamon Brewester and Sam Peter and I feel that he could possibly beat the younger Klitschko who doesn't have a great chin. What do you guys think??

Helenius needs to get in better shape. He has some potential, but still a work in progress. But the HW division is so bleak right now he can cruise on hamburgers and do well. Wlad Klitschko is an overrated champion. He's really vulnerable.

Helenius has a chance against Vitali because he is 40, but against Wladimir will be beaten by a unanimous decision.

Helenius throw 3 punches each round nad has a terrible defense against a tired and at the end of career Liakhovic, with Klitschko who beat Haye he is good for pick up butterfly.

Anyway I hope I'am wrong a good fight would be very good to see.

Although i support Robert Helenius and i´m originally from Finland, i find Siarhei Liakhovich movement and fighting style more interesting than his. I hope to see more boxers in the heavyweight division like him.

Helenius needs to work on the speed and stamina so he can be more agressive from the start to the end and not just rely on the knockout punches.

If he can improve on that he could easily be a contender to meet the Klitchkos and maybe even win.

The dream match would be Helenius Vs. Haye. First I'm not a fan of Haye but hear me out. Helenius beats up former champs something that Haye now is. Haye has mention retirement and a possible fight with Vitali. From Haye's past performance he does not deserve a title shot, but if he could beat Helenius( He can't) he could be in line for a shot against Vitali beating a up and comer.

Maybe, but it was a hard right hand. If you dont know that you never saw the fight. Watch it again.. And I said Lenoox was the best heavyweight of the last 10-20 years. Only Tyson could compete and yes, Lennox beat him late in his career but Lewis still beat him. Learn your history.

Lennox may have been losing until he beat Vitaly so blody in just the 6th that Vitaly couldn't fight anymore. 6 more rounds Vitaly wouldve been dead. He held on for his life the last couple rounds (smart move but no heart). I love Helenius and Furey, but I wanna see Helenius KO either of the Klitchkos. Klitchkos are boring 'tacticians', not fighters. Lewis is likely the greatest HW all time (who's better?). Helenius isn't near that level yet. But he's a top 3 right now. This was a great FIGHT!

Two great ko's with Peter as well, needs to get away from these slow starts though, needs to use his reach more, command the centre of the ring with his jab, but has natural heavy hands & nordic strength, very good finisher, really like him!
