Thank you for your comments. Tommy Douglas has been someone I have idolized for along time. He was a man of strength and integrity who was shaped by the events of his childhood in Winnipeg where by his own admission lived on the wrong side of the tracks in Winnipeg's north end.
@FortRouge59 If Tommy Douglas knew what happened to his Canada Health Act he would roll in his grave. That Act was meant to be inclusive of all Canadians. Unfortunately a class of people known as "injured Workers" are excluded. Then the patients legal rights are taken by Provincial Workers Compensation Acts which deny an injured Canadian his basic and guaranteed (HA!) rights. Combined, these two acts remove all rights from a Canadian citizen when they bcome injured at work. Discrimination. Death
@daniella0991 And harper is sending us right back..Once he kills off all the unions.. Then canada will be a nation of slaves to large american, chinese and european corporations. Enjoy your 40 hr work weeks and two days off while you still have them..Also, make sure you go to the dr now..because health care will be tossed out too..So as you can guess, i don't think we have gone too far from that time with the clowns we have in office..FYI The labour minister back then was a conservative..Hm...
