Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the DM1-4000, and a lot people reacting here are referring to the DM1-3xxx series, which has a slightly different design. It's kind of confusing from HP to introduce this model with almost the same specs as the DM1-3xxx. BTW, it's very good value for money, I guess maybe THE best in this segment. If you're looking for a E450 netbook, you can also search for the Asus EEE 1215B / 1225B.
Nice review, Whats the deal with the heating? does it overheat at all? i want to buy this laptop but iv had some bad experiences with overheating HP laptops...
How come I don't see this notebook on HP website with this texture on the back of the screen. I only see the plain charcoal grey matte texture which is so bland and disgusting
@BradLinder do you still have this laptop? I just got mine 2 days ago and I noticed that my Coolsense isn't like the normal DM1z (3xxx series), it doesn't like listen to me, when its in quiet mode it fan still goes spinning like its on cool mode, i've updated the bios, reinstalled hp support assistant and still the same result :\
@WeedisGoodforYouBro if your going for processing performance, HP G42-477TU is better but the graphics capabilities of e-450 is much better compared to intel HD graphics, also 2x lighter and smaller, personally i'd go for the new dm-1 the HP G42 is kind of old, and bulky
How well does the new E450 play Minecraft with the graphics set on Fancy/High/Far? I need an ultraportable that can play Minecraft at over 30 fps on high graphics settings and this seems like a good candidate.
I bought the old DM1 with the AMD 350 chip for my mom. It's the perfect laptop for that price range. Now that I go to college I also am in need of a laptop. I think this is gonna be the one. It looks nice and has nice features.
I didn't like the touch pad on the old model so I'm glad they made a different on the new one.
I think I'm in love. This is refreshed version is really nice. If its quiet and really reaches like 6+ hours of battery life in a real scenario, its a purchase for me. I hope it comes out soon in Germany as well.
Do we get to see a thorough test of it in the future? (the AMD E-450 one!)
You can upgrade it's ram to 6gb. It's alot faster then.

The only downside left is the glossy display.
