its getting harder to appreciate this show since i started reading the books before hand. when the "third eye" got hold of bianca i was kinda hoping she was gonna turn into that black wingless bat form. and hoping that the black court guy was at least gonna have some kind of black eye makeup or something to make him look corpse-like instead of just having permanent fangs. given that mavra didnt look like that but whatever. and... does toot toot make an apearance? thats a big concern.
warehouse 13. She is allot better in it. The sad thing is they will probably axe warehouse 13 like this show. Why do they get rid of the shows we really want to watch? I do not believe networks are counting up the viewer ratings correctly. Their old ways need an overhaul.
I like them both but I favor the show. I love Bob as a ghost as much as I love Thomas Raith in the books. I miss this show. I would give anything for it to come back with new episodes.
I think you just take for granted that book Harry has detailed first person perspective descriptions of his spells but the show incarnation here has done things that Book Harry can't like defeating a skinwalker and healing the near dying, oh and coming back from Hell. Slaying a dragon ect... These are things book Harry has never done.
I love these programs, but the only problem I have is the usual for a Chicagoan, in that the editing crew was not familiar with the city. The screen says "South Side 8:15p.m.", then shows the Green Mill Tavern, on Broadway & Lawrence, at 4800 North.
Yes, I suppose I'm nitpicking a bit, but it does give one who knows these places a bit of a jolt. Still and all, great show.
By the way, in the city shot at the beginning, if you panned to the right an inch or so, you could see my street. :-)
The Dresden Files crew worked with what they had and they did a good job. The Dresden Files was actually filmed in Toronto Canada and all shots of Chicago itself were from stock footage so there were bound to be some geographical inaccuracies. I see similar mistakes made all the time with shows set in London or New York but filmed elsewhere. Perhaps in the universe of The Dresden Files we can guess someone messed with the signs as a prank or the tavern relocated somewhere.
Joanna Kelly (Bianca from this episode of The Dresden Files) popped up on Monday's (April 27th, 2009 ) episode of "Castle" on ABC. She played the character of Lee Wax. She will also soon be one of the main characters in Warehouse 13.
Terrence Mann is such a great actor. I saw him on Broadway in late 2001. I was very surprised to see him in The Dresden Files. The original commercials for the show never once even hinted about the ghost or that he was being played by a Broadway icon.

I loved Bianca in the show. She was a great vampire. This show should have had a season 2.

I wish Scifi would make a made for TV movie about Bob. His character had so much potential.

lol no kidding brat! I was a big bad guy and now, oh he's just too much! he reminds me of salem the cat, but less funny
Ravenskysong 2 years ago
I think he's more like Sir Simon de Canterville than like Salem. A little more tragic than the talking cat. And very much a redemption story.
TheBratKingJareth 2 years ago
That beginning where Bob wanted to watch the rest of the movie, oh, that was priceless. Terrence Mann is such a great actor.
