@123adrspain No Bethlehem was under the jurisdiction of Jerusalem and was common to say things like that that in those times. This is why the Book of Mormon says "land of Jerusalem" and not "city of Jerusalem". Also, Joseph Smith discovered that Jerusalem had a wall around it while translating the Book of Mormon and that was unknown at the time. The LDS church is treaching the true Jesus and that is being proved more and more each day!!

After the 40days in the desert, Jesus Christ went out of his way to find 12 that would be his Apostels! But, in the mormon church, it is alleged he settled for one dude. Having received an answer from God myself to know if the Bible and Book of Mormon are true, I KNOW THEY ARE TRUE. So what if that person has two sets of DNA or their blood doesn't match their families and they convict the wrong person? @summergod27 I have my own testimony, that is the difference between myself as a Latter Day Saint, and another Latter Day Saint living on someone else's testimony. If a Latter Day Saint testified to you of what Joseph Smith saw, then they either are living on faith in another testimony, or have asked God in faith that they could revel ate the truth, and then received a direct answer from God by the power of the Holy Ghost. Knowing, no longer believing by faith alone.

So you weren't born saved or you didn't just wake up one day and say, well guess I am just going to follow what I have been taught. God has to draw you with His spirit and then you can be saved. Being baptized with the Holy Ghost isn't being born again. Being born again is being saved. Baptism of the Holy Ghost is something that comes when your heart has been swept and garnished like Jesus spoke about.

@summergod27 My testimony of my being born again was not when my testimony came about. Born again is mostly just recieving the Holy Ghost, the teacher of truth. But because I have recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost and have the ability to be taught by that spirit constantly, when I decided to read the Book of Mormon, and pray before and after reading. I then followed the books instructions on how to recieve an answer of the truth. And after months of asking in faith, God revelated.

Those who never had the chance to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ in this life, will get their chance in the millennium. People cannot be judged by what they do not know. I just felt God deal with my heart and I was so upset and devastated that I had sinned against God that I had to bow down and humbly ask Him to forgive me. @summergod27 Believes on him they will be saved, but only if they use the Atonement. That doesn't mean they can screw off and they'll still be saved. My testimony was not of the Holy Ghost alone, and it was through reading the laws of God and having faith in them that the Lord sent revelation. Not a feeling of right and wrong, but a voice that brought tears my eyes, because its power and conviction I could not deny.

The only difference is that you have failed to see God bring about his power and authority after the last apocolypes. Elijah took the the priesthood authority of God with him when he went up into Heaven. He never ordained another before he left. But he did come as an angel and reordained it at the time of the restoration of the Gospel.

You read it, make your decision, and then tell God this is my decision is it right? And pray until you get an answer. It took me 8 months to recieve.

Here we have navajo blood, and Ute Blood. Navajo are not of hebrew origon. Utes however are the same blood as the Eskimos, and the Eskimos are most DEFINITELY of Hebrew decent. That HAS been proven. Native American is not a race. It is true in its word Native; which is true in the sense that these races were here before "we" the Europeans came in; but Native American is NOT a race. @calman1951 Answer: The character of God's being is perfect, eternal, and unchanging. The same is true for Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. However, the LDS church teaches that an unchanging God can be born and die as a mortal before ascending into heaven. That is exactly what happened with Jesus Christ. Perhaps other Christians do not believe that Jesus Christ should be called God?

The 2 other kingdoms are described as having the glory of the Moon and the stars (as opposed to the top kingdoms glory of the sun) are still going to be wonderful beautiful places, there is just a point when those people will no longer be able to progress. They'll be happy but I believe that an eternity of not being able to move forward, would become boring and dull. Just like when you don't work for a week or two. If you have no work to do, you get bored and seek something to do.

The only difference is the biblical translators did not have revelation to understand what these passages meant. Christ died for our sins, but only if we accept him as our savior. Otherwise we pay for our own sins. And Christ said, "How hard to bare you know not." Most Christians believe we are saved
just because he died for us. This is only true to the fact that ANYBODY who believes on his name, and on his atonement CAN be saved from paying for their sins, and they will not be cast out of the presence of God. But there is still work on your end to obtain the Kingdom of God. And if you don't work for the Kingdom of God (the celestial kingdom) then you will achieve a lower level of happiness and glory. This is why the Book of Mormon says "land of Jerusalem" and not "city of Jerusalem". Also, Joseph Smith discovered that Jerusalem had a wall around it while translating the Book of Mormon and that was unknown at the time. The LDS church is treaching the true Jesus and that is being proved more and more each day!!

So what if that person has two sets of DNA or their blood doesn't match their families and they convict the wrong person? These are real things, look up the word Human chimeras, there are cases of people's children being taken away because their DNA didn't match so they assumed they were stolen. And yet they discover DNA is actually NOT 100% sure. Just had to be a smart ass :)

@summergod27 I have my own testimony, that is the difference between myself as a Latter Day Saint, and another Latter Day Saint living on someone else's testimony. If a Latter Day Saint testified to you of what Joseph Smith saw, then they either are living on faith in another testimony, or have asked God in faith that they could revel ate the truth, and then received a direct answer from God by the power of the Holy Ghost. Knowing, no longer believing by faith alone.

So you weren't born saved or you didn't just wake up one day and say, well guess I am just going to follow what I have been taught. God has to draw you with His spirit and then you can be saved. Being baptized with the Holy Ghost isn't being born again. Being born again is being saved. Baptism of the Holy Ghost is something that comes when your heart has been swept and garnished like Jesus spoke about.

@summergod27 My testimony of my being born again was not when my testimony came about. Born again is mostly just recieving the Holy Ghost, the teacher of truth. But because I have recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost and have the ability to be taught by that spirit constantly, when I decided to read the Book of Mormon, and pray before and after reading. I then followed the books instructions on how to recieve an answer of the truth. And after months of asking in faith, God revelated.

My testimony was not of the Holy Ghost alone, and it was through reading the laws of God and having faith in them that the Lord sent revelation. Here we have navajo blood, and Ute Blood. Navajo are not of hebrew origon. Utes however are the same blood as the Eskimos, and the Eskimos are most DEFINITELY of Hebrew decent. That HAS been proven. Native American is not a race. It is true in its word Native; which is true in the sense that these races were here before "we" the Europeans came in; but Native American is NOT a race. The races are Navajo indians, Ute indians, Pueblo indians, Eskimo indians, the list goes ON and ON. I grew up and have many Navajo and Ute friends. I live with these people and they are easily offended when compared to each other as one race. They are NOT one face, NOR one blood line.

@lapmarty this is true however there is only speculation that early humans came from Africa. Its theory not fact just yet. It is proven however that Native Americans descended from the Japanese Inuit tribe which was almost exactly like the Eskimos in Alaska. Their features are of the mongoloid type and jews are of the caucasoid type so there is no connection for them being related.

@calman1951 Answer: The character of God's being is perfect, eternal, and unchanging. The same is true for Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. However, the LDS church teaches that an unchanging God can be born and die as a mortal before ascending into heaven. That is exactly what happened with Jesus Christ. Perhaps other Christians do not believe that Jesus Christ should be called God?

@calman1951 the B.O.M. doesn't contradict the bible. It is another testiment of Jesus Christ. They correspond through most of their gospel principles. And those who obtain the highest degree of glory will eventually become Gods because they are allowed to eternally progress. But that doesn't mean if you are LDS you will obtain it, you will have to work for it. The 2 other kingdoms are described as having the glory of the Moon and the stars (as opposed to the top kingdoms glory of the sun) are still going to be wonderful beautiful places, there is just a point when those people will no longer be able to progress. They'll be happy but I believe that an eternity of not being able to move forward, would become boring and dull. Just like when you don't work for a week or two. If you have no work to do, you get bored and seek something to do.

@calman1951 I can't really explain it very well because I'm only a 16 year old girl. It is not in the bible, it is in the book for mormon--which is another testament of Jesus Christ. Go to lds.org, or mormon.org. In mormon.org you can chat with a missionary and ask them questions, just make sure not to be rude.
one thing you can ask about progression, "okay great, I'm back in heaven. What are we gonna do this whole time?"

@calman1951 It doesn't contradict the bible. If you read both of them, you'll find they actually compliment one another. The bible does explain these kingdoms 1 Corinthians 15: 40-42. The only difference is the biblical translators did not have revelation to understand what these passages meant. Christ died for our sins, but only if we accept him as our savior. Otherwise we pay for our own sins. And Christ said, "How hard to bare you know not." Most Christians believe we are saved

This is only true to the fact that ANYBODY who believes on his name, and on his atonement CAN be saved from paying for their sins, and they will not be cast out of the presence of God. But there is still work on your end to obtain the Kingdom of God. And if you don't work for the Kingdom of God (the celestial kingdom) then you will achieve a lower level of happiness and glory. Through the bible alone we cannot understand Heaven. Because it wasn't revealed

@calman1951 the only thing I can tell you whole heartedly is that if you read the Book of Mormom, not just assume because others have told you it is wrong, then you would find how similar it is to the Bible. Plus it tells you THE ONE WAY to KNOW the truth of all things. And then if you actually do what it says, if it is God's wisdom that YOU KNOW the truth at that point, he will revelate it too you.

This requires faith from yourself to assume, "It could be true. Why should I say its not before reading the B.O.M. and then asking God himself to revelate an answer to me." Just assume that it MIGHT be true, and then read and ask in faith. I promise you that if God wants you to know at this point in your life, HE WILL REVELATE IT TOO YOU! I promise. We cannot make you understand or expect you too, because we are not God. So go staight to the source. I promise you God still revelates.

I don't ask you to believe the Prophet, but if you have faith in the bible, try having faith in the B.O.M. and faith in actually believing God does still revelate. If you ask him in faith that it MIGHT be true. He will revelate to you of the truth.

I humbled myself to say "I believe the bible, and I believe the Book of Mormon could be another testament. But how do I KNOW the Bible and Book of Mormon are true?
