The Sonly First Creation of God once visited earth as an extra-terrestrial. And he promised he would "come back again" with salvation for both living people who suffer and even some people who have died. He said his return would begin with his casting rebel angels such as Satan from heaven to our earth. Today a person with an enlightened heart can discern that he has done this and begun a countdown to his final cleansing... that of the old world here Compare 1 Kings 3:9 See Revelation 12;7-10
@centralparocker I know I've got MY heartlight on in detection of a Friend coming back again now. It glows like King Solomon's heart which is spoken of at 1 Kings 3:9. And the song lyrics here at 1:07 and 1:17 somehow bring Revelation 1:07 and Ephesians 1:17-21 to my memory. An enlightened heart is a heart that has eyes - eyes obediently open and shining. It's a heart shining with an understanding of what's come over this crazy world surrounding us. - SEEREUSS, P.O.Box 04817, Detroit, MI 48204
@EEastCCoast Thumbs *down*. LOL it drives me nuts that today's younger generation has to hear about *real* music like this from all these new "junkfood" shows like South Park, Glee, and all that other crap.
Ame Deals death makes me realize that there isn't any hope in this life. We truely live in HELL! I feel sad for the patron saint of children. Kids today are treated like trash by TRASH! No careing. I completely agree with twinklebear22 , this song is pure magic , and that magic you felt in the air in those times is inexistent today , it's like a period of grace god gave us before the oblivion of today

This song will be performed and dedicated to the memory of the late Lasallian icon, Rev. Bro. i love this song and I love this movie even more. Screw the haters. They have no hearts. This song brings back so many warm and wonderful memories of my adolescence in the early 1980's.
what a shitty song. i cant believe all the positive comments for it. am i hearing a different song? hes just babbling about random shit then he sings the hook. washrinserepeat like 30 times and dont forget the shitty guitar solos.
One of the best Neil Diamond songs. I can listen to it over and over again without getting fed up. I only wish everyone could turn on their heartlights to whoever they meet in life, and this world would be a beautiful place...
At my school we have a dance and fitness program called Heartlight and we use this song as a partner stretch.. Awwwooooooooo! FOOT FOOT LEG LEG! I love This song...

I'm a Vietnem Veteran and when I returned to Brooklyn I no longer had my heartlight glow. The wires were disconnected.

"home is the most excellent place of all...". For an OFW like me who's working so far away from my family in the Philippines, this song really brings a powerful impact... úsed to hear this song back in 1980 during my senior year in high school in marikina... and i fell in love with this song way back then....
This song is so beautiful!! There is so much meaning and emotion in this song. So very powerful!! Everytime I hear it , the tears just flow. you can interpet this song in any way you would like. I like to think of loved ones I have lost and where they are now. This song takes me back to a time of true innocence and happiness in my life. There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a shame. Missing those days but hold the memories in my heart forever!! ♥
@twinklebear22 During his OWN life as an extra-terrestrial visiting earth, Jesus Christ the Sonly First Creation of Jehovah God said those who have "enlightened hearts" would see him flash a sign of his second coming and detect his prescence as a new heavenly King over us, a King who would soon restore peaceful Edenly conditions to earth and grant deathless life of perfection to people he judges fit for a New World See Psalm 83:18, John 17:3, Revelation 1:7, Matthew 24:3-14 & Ephesians 1:17-21
I still ♥ this song Neil! Even though you NEVER seem to sing this one in concert in Milwaukee, I wished you would do it for me!!!!!:-} Turn on you're heartlight Neil
Neil should have sang this during the 2010 Stand Up To Cancer telethon. His rendition of "Yesterday" was terrible. This would have brought the house down last night.
@AllAboutLOVEatYuToob some of the lyrics help tell the story and elliott says i just made friend et portaying he and et and the song and turn on your heartlight is the heartlight glow that et has and he doesn't want to leave it may mean something else but this is how i understand part of the song
I may not good in english but this song make me feel something about love and joy to share with someone and some friends I love. God you turn on what I miss so much, melody and word very beatiful as light that turn on love and care for people in the world. I love this songs:)
I was 12, maybe 13 when I met a girl while on holidays at my parents holiday house on the NSW North Coast. This song was playing when my dad told me I was too young too feel what I felt for the girl I'd fallen for & that I had to forget her after the holidays. I cried when I heard the song again the morning we had to leave, and every word of it made me feel as though it was written for us. I've travelled to seventy six countries, across 5 continents & still haven't found love like that again....
When I was a teenager I lived with my friend and her parents for a very short time because my mother was going through some hard times. This song was popular at the time. The part where it says..."he's looking for a home....'cause everyone needs a place....and home's the most excellent place of all...."....when I would hear that part I'd become overwhelmed with feelings of homesickness for my mom and my home. I have my own home now, but this song really takes me back. Thanks for posting it.
Positively gorgeous ballad that reminds one of the freindship between ET and Elliott from the classic movie. This song could speak it's lyrics just by the music alone....absolute genius went into the creation of this song....to the poster: good job on the video, too!!!!
I prefer "E.T., I Love You" by Buckner & Garcia, 'cause it's better (in all the senses) than Neil Diamond's "Heartlight".
From Wikipedia: "The duo's intended follow-up to "Pac-Man Fever" was "E.T., I Love You," which, despite permission from Steven Spielberg, was shelved by the label in favor of Neil Diamond's unauthorized "Heartlight," which brought on a lawsuit."
One of the most beautiful ballads ever. Things were so new and exciting when you were young...we grow up too quickly these days. This song reminds me of happy times :)
I remember the first time I heard this song, my parents were taking me to a fine dining restaurant near a harbor in Hawaii, for some strange reason, everything was sparkling that evening, from the glass skyscrapers, the brand new Cadillac Eldorado we were riding in, the jewelry my mother was wearing, the champagne glasses and silver ware, to the glimmering sunset on the horizon. This truly brings back memories.
hehe who would've guess that the artist was Neil DIAMOND! :D
I agree totally with you as I thought of Michael this morning when I listened to it on the radio this morning but have always liked the song and had just thought of Neil himself but for some reason Michael Jackson came to mind today.
this song was dedicated to me by my parents when i had open heart surgery when i was little cause i was born with a big hole in my heart that had to be fixed so they thought this song was the best song for me and im thankful that they dedicated this song to me
@upinsmoke1507 fuck off heartless bastard what if you had a kid with a hole in his heart then maybe you'll think twice about saying stupid shit like that
@thenextbigchristmas Best of wishes to you and your family sir. Neil touches peoples hearts and minds more than any other. All the best in the future.
This song is from my childhood. I personally wasn't a big fan of the movie, but I liked this song a lot. It reminds me of my older sister who was like a mother to me. She was a little girl herself, but she would call the local radio stations back in the 80's and request this song for her little brother, me.
I am 49 years old and I remember them they were the worst when came to want to listen to your favorite song on the album. I am glad they did away with them. Great song by Neil Diamond 1982.
I agree with MrMUSIC81. I was born in the early 60's so don't really remember the early Neil Diamond. But I was in college when this song was popular in 1982 and still think it is one of the most beautiful songs ever done.
I WARNED YOU CHRISTIANS, DELIVERANCE IS COMING, SEAL YOUR SELF WITH HOLY SPIRIT!
Do not pollute yourself with pornography, violent entertainment, smoke, drugs, alcohol, evil words, etc. Remember this admonition of the Lord: Touch not the unclean thing; and I WILL RECEIVE YOU, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Cor.6:17,18
Everyone take this song to heart I have a hard time listening to this song I lost a very close friend whom meant alot to me I miss him so much. gus kast words wee I'm scared and I told him it's going to be ok just turn on your heart light so the world can see you when your taking your journey accross the world.... I miss him so much
i love this song so much. before when i heard this song i thought it was just a song that my grandfather would listen to. but now that i'm older and i've exprienced friendships, i understand. and know that one of my best friends has moved away, and two of my other best friends are moving, i know know how elliot feels. -sigh- well, this was a great movie, 5 stars!
thelaird1 yo have done a good job with a nice song tastefully illustrated with stills from the movie ET. I am probably the only person in the western hemisphere who has never seen that movie and had no idea that the song was part of that movie. Nicely done!
I love this song. I was about 13 when I heard it for the 1st time & I met a girl the day before who may or may not have been a figment of my imagination....to this day I can't be sure because nobody else saw her and the neighbours at my parents holiday house said she wasn't staying with them (scary because I met her in their yard. Anyway, she was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen & I fell hard, even though I only knew her for about an hour (she invited herself for a canoe ride with me & we
Great song. I remember hearing this when I was just a kid. Those days are gone forever replaced by work and stress. But hearing this song brings me back to a time long before all that and puts a smile on my face. Even if for only a short time.
ya, I totally agree, I was 5 when this movie came out and I love this movie so much casue it reminds me alot about being a kid...and puts a smile on my face too
@liljacob2 I like your point of remisicencse i feel the same when i hear this song, back when 80's seem so innocent through younger eyes! God Bless! Have a great day!!

This song is from my childhood. I personally wasn't a big fan of the movie, but I liked this song a lot. It reminds me of my older sister who was like a mother to me. She was a little girl herself, but she would call the local radio stations back in the 80's and request this song for her little brother, me.

What a powerful melancoly song,
by a great singer,
If it was also with Bacharach, he ( BB) must be the greatest song writer, EVER

I agree with MrMUSIC81. I was born in the early 60's so don't really remember the early Neil Diamond. But I was in college when this song was popular in 1982 and still think it is one of the most beautiful songs ever done.

i love this song so much. before when i heard this song i thought it was just a song that my grandfather would listen to. but now that i'm older and i've exprienced friendships, i understand. and know that one of my best friends has moved away, and two of my other best friends are moving, i know know how elliot feels.
