Folks, you really have to get the "episodes between the episodes boxset", that has an episode before The Enemy Within, that clearly shows us that all the Enterprise's shuttles are being repair from that last stupid rescue mission. :P So there! :D

The REAL reason,of course, is that this was one of the earliest episodes and they didn't have the full-size shuttle mockup and the shuttle bay set built yet. :P

You're absolutely right, they didn't have the shuttle craft built yet, though even if they had I think they would've had to egnore it, otherwise there wouldn't have been a reason to find a solution to the transporter problem in a hurry.

Good video, besides that I can't understand the appeal of Star Trek. It looks god awful.

Remember that at the time the series was produced they had better special effect than what they had in the movies of the day. It wasn't until after the series that 2001 came out, the first movie with good special effects.
