If one was with Lizabeth Scott one would be tempted to close their eyes and just listen to that smokey, sexy voice. On the other hand if one was with Lizabeth Scott why the hell would you close your eyes? Just kidding. B movie queen or not she was terrific.
"I am so much older than they are". She's right, 25 is a little late to be still at university let alone school. Mary Astor would have had to have borne Elizabeth Scott at 16, which is possible. But though the women look too close in age to be a typical mother and daughter.who's complaining when Cary Grant's mother in North by Northwest was just a few days over 7 years older than him!
Mary Astor was an awesome actress. She owned whatever movie she was in even her last Hush Hush Sweet CHarlotte. I think Liz drives a 46 or 47 Chrysler Town & Country, those are worth a fortune today.
Claire Trevor is very lovely indeed. I love her movies so much. They are so hard to find. I have found quite a few though at lovingtheclassics I just googled lovingtheclassics after reading about them on another youtube classic (i think it was alan ladd)
lauren bacall was boring. she was a lame duck at times...always the same role always that distant look in her eyes. she was an excellent actress but there was something lacking. this girl is her own person. no one can make someone else appear to be someone they are not. :)
The great Mary Astor. I love the scene in "The Maltese Falcon" when in the midst of blubbering to Bogart, Peter Lorre makes a sarcastic comment and she turns off the waterworks and slaps him up side the head.
I'm almost positive it isn't available on VHS OR DVD. And this online movie is missing Chapter 9...still really good, though, and I am sure happy that Picklepuss went to the trouble of posting it for us.

She is supposed to remind you of Lauren Bacall. She was Paramount's attempt to have their own Bacall.

@DA90027 Totally!!!! Back when cars were cars. You could make 10 Camrys with all the steels and materials in the convertible Scott drives.

There's no US DVD yet. It is only available in a Portuguese DVD release (all regions), which works fine, just turn the Portuguese subtitles off.
