@smilingeuterpe Andy is no underrated. It's not your problem if people know just Satriani , Satch, Gilbert and Yngwie...there are so many freakishly good guitarists out there and are know and respected , never UNDERRATED!! So Timmons is very known and respected and he is RATED HIGH!

You may rate him high, I rate him high and many other people rate him high. He is however quite unknown to wider audience for the guitar player of his calibre hence underrated.
@smilingeuterpe How can he be unknown to a wider audience ? Thats just a false statement if you ask me. Can you prove it is correct. That is the same as if you said that Pat Metheny is an unknown guitarist...ofcourse he has a special audience, but that doesn't mean that he is unknown or underrated.
@bytedildo Ask your friend who does not listen to rock music if he has heard about Jimmy Hendrix or Keith Richard, heck, even Kurt Cobain. Chances are he knows them. Then ask about Andy Timmons, Ron Jarzombek or Jim Matheos ... See my point ?

Maybe they would say Jimi Hendrix was a guitarist or some might say that he was a pianist, but my point is that there is no difference between those that say he is a guitarist and don't know anything else (can't even say the name of one of this songs and never listened to him) and those that get it wrong and say he was a pianist.
