Republican policies like oil subsidies and no-bid contracts for Halliburton spend money the government doesn't have, which lowers the price of the dollar. This inflation amounts to an indirect tax and Republicans are notorious for deficit spending. Even if they don't use the IRS, Republicans still take money out of your pocket book.

Insurance companies are small versions of what a national system would be like. They are the reason why medical prices are outrageous in the first place. There is little competition in the med field. Nationalizing it would make it worse. This is an example of why I am pro capitalist.
The problem is the profit motive means insurance companies reward doctors and administrators that deny the most health care, making small problems become bigger and more expensive. It also encourages insurers to deny coverage or void policies due to technicalities when a life saving procedure is too expensive. It's not a coincidence that other countries get better care for less money with a nationalized system.
Profit motive is not the problem. It is the behavior of the customers. Look into my favorites and watch Sick In America part5. This will help explain why it is the way it is now and how a national system is the opposite of what we need to do. A national system will just raise taxes and give more control to government. Bush only served as governor of Texas from 1995-2000 before becoming president, a year of that was on the campaign trail. Obama has been a community organizer, lawyer, he served in the Illinois senate from 1997-2004, and has been a U.S. senator for almost 3 years now. @ sheepman..Do you ever notice that the quality of service from a courthouse is terrible? Have you ever tried to get a passport without going through a private source? The goverment isn't capable of running the healthcare system...I was administered chemotherapy within 1.5 weeks of being diagnosed with cancer. That is unheard of in other places. To be honest your "national healthcare system" scares the living shit out of me. Its a matter of life and death for me...please dont vote you moron

What about the people without access to health insurance who never go in for a checkup and never get that diagnosis until it's too late? What about undocumented immigrants that only show up to the emergency room with advanced stages of cancer? Additionally if you had any other type of cancer besides breast and prostate cancer your statistical likelihood of getting better would be higher in another country with nationalized care rather than the US.

Forgive me if I didn't express myself well enough for you to connect the dots between taxes and Haliburton. Republican policies like oil subsidies and no-bid contracts for Halliburton spend money the government doesn't have, which lowers the price of the dollar. This inflation amounts to an indirect tax and Republicans are notorious for deficit spending. Even if they don't use the IRS, Republicans still take money out of your pocket book.

Your comment is hypocrisy because you don't think a National Healthcare system is a waste of money? It would be the biggest expenditure that is unnecessary. Insurance companies are small versions of what a national system would be like. They are the reason why medical prices are outrageous in the first place. There is little competition in the med field. Nationalizing it would make it worse. This is an example of why I am pro capitalist.

The problem is the profit motive means insurance companies reward doctors and administrators that deny the most health care, making small problems become bigger and more expensive. It also encourages insurers to deny coverage or void policies due to technicalities when a life saving procedure is too expensive. It's not a coincidence that other countries get better care for less money with a nationalized system.

This will help explain why it is the way it is now and how a national system is the opposite of what we need to do. A national system will just raise taxes and give more control to government. The only one that has proved effective is nationalized care. It leaves no uninsured and gives equal or better overall quality of care than our system.

Obama was apparently wrong on the reduced violence due to the surge (as far as I know, but a sound bite doesn't provide context, something you don't understand). But the surge wasn't about violence, it was about political reconciliation in Iraq. And he's always said 16 months based on the situation.
McCain said we'll leave if Iraq asks us to, well they just asked. Well?

Bush only served as governor of Texas from 1995-2000 before becoming president, a year of that was on the campaign trail. Obama has been a community organizer, lawyer, he served in the Illinois senate from 1997-2004, and has been a U.S. senator for almost 3 years now. Beyond that, he is a very intelligent and inspiring man. He hasn't flipped on any issue that I know of, and to date the only arguments you have against him are manufactured bullshit like his experience and pastor, no substance.

Nice attempt to down play the years of experience Obama has. I'd say no new president is entirly prepared for the first years of office, but I do believe Obama has proven his intelligence and capabillity.

I never said I think limited experience is ok, he has nearly ten years working in different levels of the governement. He may not have racked as many years as McCain has, but that doesn't make McCain the better candidate. I'd rather have the new honest guy working on my brakes than the cenior guy who will do a shitty job just to save a buck. This has nothing to do with BHO's nomination, Hillary agreed to these terms as well. It's only after she started losing the lead that people like you started making excuses for her and slandering BHO and the DNC. The democratic candidate will be elected on the terms signed off by everyone, there's nothing wrong with that. Back in 2000, it was a law suit that disenfranchised those voters, not an agreement and actions on their part.
