  • I have a 2006 CRV and there is another part blocking the two plugs. I can reach the drain plug but not the fill plug. Is anyone familiar with this problem and have any suggestions?

  • @dzubaks sorry not a owner of a 06, but di you lift just enough, no way to get a rachet up tehre?

  • @fishycomics Going to try again today, Ive got a few ideas, so if I figure it out Ill let you know for future 06 owners.

  • @dzubaks scope it out , get under it, look up at it, lift it, and I am sure it may be the same, but I remember one had to remove a canister, good luck.

  • @dzubaks If it is anything like my 2005 crv there is a housing right next to the plug protecting a couple wires and some box that gets in the way of the fill hole. I had to remove that first before I could get the fill hole open.

  • I used all your videos, for my 07 CRV fluid changes. the dealer wanted $1178.00.

I spent $80.00 on fluids and about 3 hours. All that's left to do is diff fluid.

    Thanks

  • @blackbass101a and none went to me, Lol great job and glad I was helpful.

  • Not being able to remove plugs is a 'show stopper'

Your video, unlike all others, allowed 'the show' to continue.

  • breaker bar didn't fit

Only this post/ video offered solution.

  • google 'admiral william h payne' I am the OTHER who is Iran educated in higher algebra.

  • Harbor Freight pump 66418 bought for about $5.99. One hose cut in half. 11 strokes to empty 1 guart. Second quart required only several stokes. Then fell on its side. About half lost. Torque wrench would not not to trighten to 35 ft-lbs. So used jack 'trick' again to tighten plugs. Job done by 74 year-old on 97 degree day in albuquerque. Schweppes tonic water in Santa Fe motel tastes good. Google 'embedded controller forth for the 8051' for other projects. :-) bill

  • @billp37abq Bill. you da man. thanks for the info.

  • jack idea worked great on 2006 cr-v. I had to remove protective box held by 3 10 mm bolts to access top filler plug.

  • Are you from Yugoslavia, man?

  • @CharlieDoan I am from YOUTUBE MAN

  • Awesome, thanks for the how-to!

  • You should tighten the bolts using the jack as well!

Place the wrench on the bolt, place jack under the wrench and lift until you hear what sounds like a cracking sound and your dones!

  • A torque wrench at XX lbs, is required. not force of how one removes, common sense goes a long way, and thinking it out will be the ideal task in hand

  • I placed the jack under the wrench using your method until I heard the crush washers crack. There was some oild dripping afterewards. But after driving 300 miles on a road trip to the desert there is no more dripping.

    Thank you for your advice.

  • ah a emergency repair:

When I commented. weare only using the jack for loosening, tightning should not bedone, damage can occure, and a new crush washer would be the culprite. the body shoul have been strong enough.

  • You know I was drving down a country road last nght and when I made a sharp left turn my car started moaning. I thought it was because I hit a rather large racoon! This racoon was really big and it whent calump athump thump thumpt nump or something like that.

Anyways, about 5 minutes later when I made the left I heard the moaning sound. I pulled over and looked under the car and there was a smoking carcass. I not sure if it caused my sounds, now everytime I turn left the car moans. DIff?

  • anything is posable.

  • @keikiokas it's just the ghost of the raccon, after you preform an exorcism it should go away.

  • You can do damage with jack. Id just push hard in and smack with hammer yes abuse my wrench.

  • Absolutely if one'sa fool.

  • bravo!! thanks

  • one must truely be there to see the amount of pressure placed, a vide will not show that. nor am I argueing about what is right or wrong i am agreeing with you. I can easily snap the rachet via hand or by tool. if a Craftman or Klein.

  • never do that with a jack on the wrench...
