Great cover. Great singer. Nazareth were very clever with a lot of their covers. They played in Ayr a few years ago and Dan sat with the punters in the bar after the gig gabbing away. No pretensions.
Nazareth usualy make covers very diferent from the original ...woody's original version is almost like another song.but is not know.Look begger's day original by nils lofren is the same thing you barely reconize the song comparing to Naz version...this flight tonight too the list goes on..
Ich kannte das doch tasächlich nicht. Habe Nazareth immer irgendwie gemocht...aber das ist der absolute Hammer. Ich schaus mir immer wieder an. Musste 52 Jahre alt werden um das kennen zu lernen
Fascism & Communism would have not a chance if Capitalist would practice their christian values. SCABS killing folks who just want to WORK and provide for their kids.
white oppressed workingmans misery brings anger. A worker's anthem. aggression grows, violence is imminent. A lullaby for the men who hold hih places. Sleep well.
Still sends shivers down my spine when i hear this song. A great cover done in true Nazareth style. A Chilled song that builds up and you can feel the change in tempo.
one of their best tunes imho. remake of an old woody guthrie tune. powerful and still relevant. as much as i love hearing this again, i really wish it was the live version in the vid.
saw them in 1970 at the old caley picture house in edinburgh supported by the sleaze band my first gig and still one of the best in 40years of gigs fock on dan and the boys
ooooow! two lead singers with a vocal that's so hard to imitate Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and Dan Mcaferty of Nazareth. i dont which is better theyre both excellent. steven's voice was great when he shouted like a monster on "i dont wanna miss a thing the last part" although Dan can't do that, the tone of his natural voice are so high, his song "Love Hurts" i took 4 yrs of singing in videoke but still can't get it... Wooooow Nazareth should have been more fame than acdc, guns n roses....
@golonglee steven tyler hahaha you may find somebobody better than Dan(witch i doubt) but steven is too far behind Dan to be mentioned.no offense, really.Peace
My wife met this group back in 1977 in a friends house in Clackmannan when she was a teenager mr andrew clements from Clackmannan became there manager for a short time and also wrote some songs for the group.
AC/DC first asked the Nazareth singer if he wanted to sing for them after Bon Scott died...however, Nazareth didn't wanna let him go so they took Brian Johnson instead
I think there would be no good. I believe that Nazareth and ACDC has very different music conception. I jast can't amagine whow it should sounds like.
I like this song so much. I think (my opinion) this is one of the Nazareth´s best songs. Maybe a little bit different and hard to understand to many Nazareth´s fans. This is the first time I found this song in internet. Thanks a lot. There is something really great in this song. I don´t speak english very well. Sorry about that. I have seek this song long time. It is on my old levyllä, jota ei voi enää soittaa. sori. ja Kitos.

If you listen to say.."Shoot To Thrill" by AC/DC and then listen to "Hair Of The Dog", Brian Johnson and Dan McCafferty do sound a bit alike.
