A person walk with God is what will save us, not religion. I feel bad for these people thinking they were going to church to poke fun of it and instead you sat through the serve. If you would of let God take control you would feel so different about things. Its not all about money or tithing. You may make it bigger then it seems but the bible does say Money is the root of all evil, and yes in the wrong hands it can be. The girl seems to have it together. God cannot allow anything that has not been sanctified to enter into the glory of His kingdom; and without the blood of Christ, none can be sanctified. When I attended Presbyterian Sunday School years ago, the senior elder (lay minister) was so ignorant of the Bible that he put verbal emphasis on every italicized word in Scripture -- whereas we know that those were the words left OUT of the Bible by the scribes, in the orig. languages, but interpolated (filled in) later so that the text flows. He was like,: "And Mary and Joseph TRAVELED to Bethlehem, but THEY found no room FOR them at THE inn." LOL Even at 6, I knew this was wrong.
If Rod Parsley was all for money, he would of been dead by now or his church would of been lost, bankrupt or whatever. Pastors who steal money from the church, beak God's law and commandments end up dying behind the pulpit in Church. Sometime they die some where else outside the church. I'm an atheist who has left Christianity, but I've gone to church several times since then. Whenever I'm there, I cannot help but see it as masses of mindless drones mashed into compact, organized rows, all facing the same direction into single, authoritative megaphone. It's just all tragic. The repetitious standing and sitting in sync. The monotone "amens" on queue. The slow process of everyone transforming into a perfect line to individually march forward and be spoonfed by the megaphone. Sad.
If the church is too loud or long for you, then to each his own. That's why there are a ton of them out there, however, don't dismiss God as a non entity. He just doesn't exist to you because you don't know him.
Every Church is not a good church and yes some Preachers are out for the money. I know some, but it's up to you to decide if the church you attend is a good church based on Bible principles.
So you need to quit playing with God and seek him or leave it alone.

This is the equivalent common excuse I hear many times from Christians, "you just didn't try to believe hard enough" or in other words you can't know he exists until you believe he exists, which is frankly stupid since it means you have to convince yourself to believe and then you'll believe.
Finally after numerous blood tests and waiting on her skin to turn black from poison and her eyes to turn yellow from jaundice, they declared that her kidneys were somehow working. Although you can't buy a miracle, what would you pay for a new kidney?
Lastly, Pastor Parsley does not make his money from the donations. My daugher worked in his office and his funds come from his numerous books and speaking engagements.
@MsCookieW Sorry that's not evidence of anything. Many illnesses can go into remission, the human body is one big factory that fights to repair itself. If you really thought that "God" was able to heal, you wouldn't be taking yourself or your children to hospitals in the first place. On top of this, why doesn't God heal Amputee's? Have him heal something we know the body can't do on it's own, because showing us a one in a million case isn't convincing of a miracle, just a rare occurrence.
You can laugh and mock Christianity, but just last month my 40 yr old niece was just healed completely from 5.5 yrs on dialysis 3 times a week. She was on the transplant list waiting on a donor match. Our church was on a consecration and she was prayed for and her body started rejecting her catheter. The Dr.s kept trying to put in a new one, switched the location, what ever they tried they could not get it to work and couldn't dialyze her for 30 days. They finally gave up.
I've been to World Harvest, and while you say 2.5 Hrs was punishing, so to say, how much time is spent at a rock concert, baseball game, or a movie?
World Harvest has a huge outreach Ministry within Ohio, and across the world. To help that many people you do need money, to stay on TV, you will need money. People will drop $250 on a concert or theater ticket, but $20 in Church or $200 is a crime. Who benefited from that concert ticket? More people are helped with the donation.

I have been a member of WHC for about 7 months its the first church ive ever been to....Pastor is defiantly anointed by God. God is always doing a work there. I am a member at World Harvest Church.. this is my first church i ever attended. I didnt believe in anything before this church. I have been here for about 7 months. God is real i have experienced Him for myself. God also has His hand on Pastor Parsley.. and the Bible states do not touch (with or words or hands) my anointed and Pastor is def. anointed. I went to church there, I went to college there..for about 7 years afterward I wanted to commit suicide almost every day. It was torture the cultish life I led . I still believe in God yet use my own mind now to discover his plans for my life.

We don't do - at least the church that I go to - the evening service on Sunday. But your right about a traditional Pentecostal service - its far more stricter than the Mega Church these people went to.
I went to church as a atheist with a theist friend. She wanted to save my soul. So we went. It was nice. There was live music, singing, and praise. Everyone was uber friendly and gave off a good vibe. Everything was going fine.....that is until the preacher showed up. He then started yelling at us to repent and "feel the lord inside of us!" Then people started fainting. Dropping like fuckin flies in front of cameras. I then proceeded to laugh derisively as other people ate this bullshit up.
You Guys need to shut your blame mouths, World Harvest is a big church that needs money to run and reach these people around the world. You sorry behind people need to get it right, cause there is nothing wrong with World Harvest, just the people who dont like and hate it.

You couldn't have picked a worse church to visit than that. They come in degrees of stupid. I come out a Lutheran tradition, which is stubborn and sure that it's right, but it doesn't want your money or think that you're wrong simply for disagreeing with it. A Lutheran will give and take a little in an argument before they retreat back into their beliefs.
7 years of theology won't cut it. The priests will apparantly only consider you an expert when you reach their conclusion otherwise you're just by definition considered wrong and illiterate. Just because.
Faith has shown to close minds and hardens hearts and by definition this is detrimental to societies. When you get people to believe absurdities you can get them to commit atrocities. There's no such thing as a true Christian, just people who think they're more special and superior to others, even amongst their own 'chosen tribe', all because of faith.
I went to church once due to a suggestion of a friend of mine. It was a new years bash with a bunch of teens. We played Guitar Hero, Halo 3, and CoD4 all night long on a huge ass projected screen. If it wasn't that, it was floor hockey. They didn't preach or ask us for money at all.

Exposing the money grabbing aspect of religion is something that non believers don't do enough. The poor people (pun intended) that attend these services must be among the super stupidest of the religious believers because at least with the more mainstream churches the money they extract is shared a little more widely than the preacher.

There is a myth that living with faith is somehow detrimental to the progress of a more rational, free society. That's nothing more than a bunch of buzzwords thrown together. Simple fact is that some structure, some form of cohesion is required for a society to progress. Nothing about true Christianity inhibits progress in science or society. Frankly, militant secularism is just as threatening as any form of religion, because it relies on telling others how and what to think.

I've never been to a prosperity gospel church, but I've heard a lot of the phrases spouted from various stages/pulpits. Thanks for helping to expose them.
You don't have to consider what I say but it will serve you if you do. Consider that God will judge all men, including those who go by His Name according to truth. Different people represent God in varying ways. You'll not answer to God based on Parsley or anyone else. You'll answer for two things. One, your deeds (obviously) and two, what you did with the sacrifice of Jesus for all your sins, and there will be no excuses. God chose a walk of faith and you're neglecting that. That's not wise.

When I attended Presbyterian Sunday School years ago, the senior elder (lay minister) was so ignorant of the Bible that he put verbal emphasis on every italicized word in Scripture -- whereas we know that those were the words left OUT of the Bible by the scribes, in the orig. languages, but interpolated (filled in) later so that the text flows. Every Church is not a good church and yes some Preachers are out for the money. I know some, but it's up to you to decide if the church you attend is a good church based on Bible principles.

If you really thought that "God" was able to heal, you wouldn't be taking yourself or your children to hospitals in the first place. On top of this, why doesn't God heal Amputee's? Have him heal something we know the body can't do on it's own, because showing us a one in a million case isn't convincing of a miracle, just a rare occurrence.

You can laugh and mock Christianity, but just last month my 40 yr old niece was just healed completely from 5.5 yrs on dialysis 3 times a week. She was on the transplant list waiting on a donor match. Our church was on a consecration and she was prayed for and her body started rejecting her catheter. The Dr.s kept trying to put in a new one, switched the location, what ever they tried they could not get it to work and couldn't dialyze her for 30 days. They finally gave up.

World Harvest has a huge outreach Ministry within Ohio, and across the world. To help that many people you do need money, to stay on TV, you will need money. People will drop $250 on a concert or theater ticket, but $20 in Church or $200 is a crime. Who benefited from that concert ticket? More people are helped with the donation.

I went to church as a atheist with a theist friend. She wanted to save my soul. So we went. It was nice. There was live music, singing, and praise. Everyone was uber friendly and gave off a good vibe. Everything was going fine.....that is until the preacher showed up. He then started yelling at us to repent and "feel the lord inside of us!" You couldn't have picked a worse church to visit than that. They come in degrees of stupid. I come out a Lutheran tradition, which is stubborn and sure that it's right, but it doesn't want your money or think that you're wrong simply for disagreeing with it. A Lutheran will give and take a little in an argument before they retreat back into their beliefs.

Faith has shown to close minds and hardens hearts and by definition this is detrimental to societies. When you get people to believe absurdities you can get them to commit atrocities. There's no such thing as a true Christian, just people who think they're more special and superior to others, even amongst their own 'chosen tribe', all because of faith.

I went to church once due to a suggestion of a friend of mine. It was a new years bash with a bunch of teens. We played Guitar Hero, Halo 3, and CoD4 all night long on a huge ass projected screen. If it wasn't that, it was floor hockey. They didn't preach or ask us for money at all.
I kind of forgot that it was a church by the end of it.

Exposing the money grabbing aspect of religion is something that non believers don't do enough. The poor people (pun intended) that attend these services must be among the super stupidest of the religious believers because at least with the more mainstream churches the money they extract is shared a little more widely than the preacher.

There is a myth that living with faith is somehow detrimental to the progress of a more rational, free society. That's nothing more than a bunch of buzzwords thrown together. Simple fact is that some structure, some form of cohesion is required for a society to progress. Nothing about true Christianity inhibits progress in science or society. Frankly, militant secularism is just as threatening as any form of religion, because it relies on telling others how and what to think.

Since everyone appears to have a different view on what that True Christianity is, how makes your opinion more valid than others' ? My faith is in God not a TV evangelist . If you're not happy with your church then find another one that you like. People are fallible and often fail to live up to any doctrine whether it's a doctrine of faith or a doctrine of Secular Humanism. Your feeling of being on your own may very well prove to be a self fulfilling prophecy. Life is short but eternity is forever. Good luck to you.

Interesting how a suppousedly omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent god needs his human worshipers to collect funds in order to do all of these things like feed the hungry and build shelters. One would think that he could just say snap his fingers and it could all be done instantaneously. That's how we serve God. It says in the Bible that God put a knowledge of his existence in everyone and I believe it. I think you believe it to, why else would you be so anti something that doesn't exist. It doesn't hurt you that people believe in God, in fact you've probably benefitted from it and don't even know it.

You don't have to consider what I say but it will serve you if you do. Consider that God will judge all men, including those who go by His Name according to truth. Different people represent God in varying ways. You'll not answer to God based on Parsley or anyone else. You'll answer for two things. One, your deeds (obviously) and two, what you did with the sacrifice of Jesus for all your sins, and there will be no excuses. God chose a walk of faith and you're neglecting that. That's not wise.

Matthew6:33 says to seek ye first the Kingdom of God and it's righteousness, "then" these things shall be added unto you. First priority is the Kingdom of God and righteousness, not the other way around.
