Though this segment was a work, part of it was based in fact, hence why Shane resigned from the company in real life & invested stock in things like the UFC. Before Shane Offically Debut on TV during this storyline.......over the years you would see him with other officals when they came to ringside to brake up a fight. between wrestlers. I remember when Savage Fought Flair for the WWE World title at Wrestlemaina 8. Shane came to ringside with other officals to try and Stop Elizabeth from coming to ringside. she didn't come to ringside with Savage as she normally did. but came out later.

Actually Shane debut on screen when Steve Austin & Vince had their WWE Title match on RAW and he was the color commentator on Sunday Night Heat. But this was Shane's debut in a storyline sense.

Nope actually Shanes on-screen debut was as a referee back in the day like back in 1990 at a wrestlemania...he became a regular on air character on heat after this run because well heat didn't exist at this point...

if you watch some earlier footage shane is actually around alot supporting his father against austin up until this point
