I think maybe they would've explored the relationship more if Chad didn't leave the show.

Jess came in season 2 so when Tristan left there was another bad boy for Rory.

I have to admit i do prefer Jess, but i would really like to have seen Rory with Tristan. Rory should have ended up with Jess or Tristan. I think Jess and Rory are meant to be though.
