I never touched the table saw at school. I just didn't see any point in touching a tool that dangerous when there are a bunch of idiotic kids swarming around the shop. Fuck that dude.
Wow, at 0:48, I have to be honest. Your thumb totally looked like a penis. You should have pulled that prank where you stick your thumb through your fly and pretended it was a penis. You would freak so many people out! That's a million dollar prank right there.
Is that the that a wound from the safe saw stop, or is that just from an ordinary table saw? Because you could have cut your a whole 1/2 of your thumb of your lucky
That's a good way to put it. Time bomb. This will keep you from ever getting your finger cut like kid in your shop. ALWAYS respect the saw, and and pay attention. ALWAYS properly use a push stick.
ALWAYS use eye protection. The people who don't, get hurt. The second you don't, is the second you get seriously hurt. I've used a table saw for 30 years. and not one injury. I respect the saw 100%
What happened to that kid, can happen to anyone at anytime, on any saw, on any day. SAFETY !!!
Yes, it is but the thing is, the thumb could of easily been infected within 2 seconds of the accident, which is why they should invend more safety stuff.i know the are but more.
Just to recap folks-As bad as it looks, there was never an infection and my thumb healed remarkable fast. There was also very little pain-apparently because I severed a nerve.
Believe it or not, There was no major pain, or bleeding. At the moment I realized this, my camera was right in front of me. I have never been the type to panic under stress or pressure. Though I didn't panic, I did realize the sense of urgency. Probably 3 minutes elasped between the cut and the time I drove myself to the hospital. The only reason it took that long was I had to put away my saw and other tools before I left. The pictures took about half a minute. Believe it or not!

u can tell because obviously osmeone would not be standing casually taking picturs with their finger like because u cna clearly see it has not been treated or anything so nah dude caught your bluff
such a serene music to a horrible incident. lol. ouch, looks like it hurts like shit. i mean, i always break my bones, and nowadays when i break em, i dont feel anything, but that. just watching that gives me pain to me thumb ):
yep. u needed that safety guard on that saw. glad u saved the digit. i do alot of renovations at my house and when i use my table saw, i give that sucker much respect. i never go near the teeth and have like a gazillion jigs to push that last piece thru. and if its small enough, i use a hand saw. coz im skeeered...lol
Damn....looks good from print side. Did your nail grow back fine? No thickness in nail?? I know what you are talking about with the hyper sensitivity!! Do you get feelings at other places besides were you touch? Had a few bad ones myself. Glad you got to keep it :)
My nail looks fine but it is thick, brittle, and difficult to clip. I think the nerves are still out of sync too because the hyper-sensitivity comes and goes. Now and then it feels like I have arthritis or something. I'm grateful that it wasn't worst and I always use a saw guard and push stick now.
i cut my finger with a table saw, this happend today 1/7/08 only that my cut is going sideways but it looks just like that, how long di it take you to recover 100% and what were you taking for pain?

even greater wisdom would be to build a guards thats not so inconvenient to attach and remove. the convenient ones come with the $1000+ saws but im just avg joe that opted for the $300 one. thanks for video now for a while ill be reminded to put the guard back in place.
