This is real but only because there is very little friction (but enough to gradually slow it enough to "stall"). Theoretically it would run for the same time as if it was spinning on glass (except for the stalling effect). It was spinning (on average) a little faster at first, and slowed a little till it stalled. (the fluctuation disguises slowing, like a football rolling). With enough momentum the football keeps flipping over until it "stalls" too. Genuine footage but busted myth! HA! HA!

I have no idea why my postings aren't getting through. Induction is always 1:1 ratio of watts input vs watts output, with a 98% effeciency, with some energy lost in resistance and heat, however that is ONLY with windings on the same magnetic core. If you use different metals for the primary and secondary you can get different results, and you can nullify Lenz's law. Transformers only draw power because of Lenz's law. If you nullify Lenz's law, which you CAN, you can get over 100% unity.

Here is the most important thing to know about our electrical laws. In no part anywhere in our books is there a law that says induction requires the use of energy. There is no mathematical law. In my opinion, the old models need to be thrown away in order to make progress. Obviously induction is not simply a method of transfer. Yeah, that is what the books teach you. But if you do your own research, you will see that you can end up with more WATTS output on a secondary coil than WATTS input on a primary. Induction can lead to anomalous power amplification (over-unity) therefore the process of induction is also a mode of power creation. At least this is how I see it. No need to argue.
@supermuble Dude seriously I have been working with electronics since damn near longer than I have been able to talk. When you use induction the energy transferred is controlled by the windings you used. If the secondary coil has more windings it will increase the voltage while decreasing the ampherage. If the secondary has an equal number of windings then it transferes the same voltage and ampherage. If it has fewer windings then lower voltage higher ampherage. Its all the same wattage though.

I agree thermodynamics disproves this as a possibility, but if nobody tries these... "experiments" how will we know there is no loop hole? Or what if we can create an environment, somehow, maybe in space, where the laws of thermodynamics could be bent? The product of these trials could be immensely important.

That's not true, perpetual motion is any movement that goes on forever. Of course, forever is not the past... but only forever in the future, so as long as the machine continues to run by itself, forever... Sparking its initial motion does not re-classify and demote it to a motor.

If we take perpetual to mean infinity then mathematically, 5 seconds is virtually the same as a million years. In that respect he's as close to perpetual motion as any machine yet devised on Earth. Though I think this is more a video edit than 5 seconds of spinning.

Actually, the energy of you flicking the magnet is what made it spin. If you had an object of similar density attached to one of those bearings it would have spun longer. The pulsating effect is what confuses the "free energy" crowd. It's not unlike a ball bouncing until it comes to rest except the frequency is more complicated, not unlike radio wave modulation. Remember, the poles have equivalent force in opposite directions, there's no way to overcome this.
Imagine how much longer you could get it to spin if you mounted it horizontally, did away with the bearings and disk magnet, replaced the Mexican magnet with basically anything of the same size and weight and hung it from a string or thread! And instead of spinning it, you could try letting it swing. Imagine all the energy being 'produced' as it swings back and forth for several minutes, even hours! And we could call it a .... pendulum!

Good job. If you make further adjustment of the lone bearing to the near symmetry with other bearings, you may be able to turn it longer. Next step would be to put the rotor on a pin and try it to spin.

mohinix2, try a V gate Rare Earth Magnet configuration with a bicycle wheel. You will need lots of magnets, but if you get the pattern/layout right you get a very fast rate of CONTINUOUS rotation. ;-)

Try to measure the initial rpm of the rotor magnet in this configuration. Now grab the same rotor magnet and start the spin at the same rpm you used for the last setup but this time on a flat surface with no magnetic influence. You will find that without the magnetic setup, the rotor will spin for longer on a flat surface.
study physics. whatever energy you put into that system by flicking it with your finger will eventually be dissipated by the friction between the magnet and the surface it is sitting on and the friction due to the air. those magnets are not adding energy to the system. nice try though.

In that configuration the action of the six magnets on the central element is equal to almost 0. So the central piece is free to rotate until it exhausts all cinetic energy, not braked by other magnets.
the 5 (five) seconds movement is obviously not perpetual, it is due to the little variations in the movement of the principal (the moving one) magnet. With it's not perfect centered range of movement it can randomly influence magnetic fields and get acceleration or deceleration, it's random and due to oscillation. But that's a good experiment, you can probably do better too. :)
The magnets help the rotor continue to spin, but a true magnetic motor would accelerate indefinitely. Keep in mind that had he spun the rotor in a vacuum in zero gravity, it would spin indefinitely. 5 seconds is nothing compared to a gyroscope. There's nothing particularly special about aligning magnets to make your net drag as close to zero as possible.

there's no need to think of it as a video-edit trick, by spinning it he gives the system energy (the force of him pushing the magnet) and all this proves is that it loses less energy over time by aligning the magnets differently. the last being the one that costs the system less energy over time, which in itself still is rather cool, fun stuff. a fraud would have been looping it "forever", so this is most probably no video-trick.

Out of interest post another video without any bearings orbiting the magnet. Then spin with your finger and see how long it runs. If its significantly less than 5 seconds and may have found a method of increasing efficiency in motors. I dont think you've broken any laws of Physics though.
My thoughts exactly. Arranging the bearings simply helped balance the magnetic field. He created multiple N/S poles of variying strengths. If he could arrange enough bearings in just the right way, eventually it would be so balanced so as to have no real effect. It would be like spinning the magnet with no bearings.

If you use different metals for the primary and secondary you can get different results, and you can nullify Lenz's law. Transformers only draw power because of Lenz's law. If you nullify Lenz's law, which you CAN, you can get over 100% unity.

Crack a book open and read you say? That is absolutely hilarious. I have read the college level electrical books from start to finish. Here is the most important thing to know about our electrical laws. In no part anywhere in our books is there a law that says induction requires the use of energy. There is no mathematical law. Sorry. Induction is free, hence energy is free. The law of thermodynamics is a guideline, but electricity absorbs energy from the vacuum of space - its not a fuel.

In my opinion, the old models need to be thrown away in order to make progress. Obviously induction is not simply a method of transfer. Yeah, that is what the books teach you. But if you do your own research, you will see that you can end up with more WATTS output on a secondary coil than WATTS input on a primary. Induction can lead to anomalous power amplification (over-unity) therefore the process of induction is also a mode of power creation. At least this is how I see it. No need to argue.

@supermuble Dude seriously I have been working with electronics since damn near longer than I have been able to talk. When you use induction the energy transferred is controlled by the windings you used. If the secondary coil has more windings it will increase the voltage while decreasing the ampherage. If the secondary has an equal number of windings then it transferes the same voltage and ampherage. If it has fewer windings then lower voltage higher ampherage. Its all the same wattage though.

Transformers are 1:1 because of Lenz's law, which states that the power input is the same as power output.

If we take perpetual to mean infinity then mathematically, 5 seconds is virtually the same as a million years. In that respect he's as close to perpetual motion as any machine yet devised on Earth. Though I think this is more a video edit than 5 seconds of spinning.

Actually, the energy of you flicking the magnet is what made it spin. If you had an object of similar density attached to one of those bearings it would have spun longer. The pulsating effect is what confuses the "free energy" crowd. It's not unlike a ball bouncing until it comes to rest except the frequency is more complicated, not unlike radio wave modulation. Remember, the poles have equivalent force in opposite directions, there's no way to overcome this.

Imagine how much longer you could get it to spin if you mounted it horizontally, did away with the bearings and disk magnet, replaced the Mexican magnet with basically anything of the same size and weight and hung it from a string or thread! And instead of spinning it, you could try letting it swing. Imagine all the energy being 'produced' as it swings back and forth for several minutes, even hours! And we could call it a .... pendulum!

Try to measure the initial rpm of the rotor magnet in this configuration. Now grab the same rotor magnet and start the spin at the same rpm you used for the last setup but this time on a flat surface with no magnetic influence. You will find that without the magnetic setup, the rotor will spin for longer on a flat surface.

In that configuration the action of the six magnets on the central element is equal to almost 0. So the central piece is free to rotate until it exhausts all cinetic energy, not braked by other magnets.

the 5 (five) seconds movement is obviously not perpetual, it is due to the little variations in the movement of the principal (the moving one) magnet. With it's not perfect centered range of movement it can randomly influence magnetic fields and get acceleration or deceleration, it's random and due to oscillation. But that's a good experiment, you can probably do better too. :)

The magnets help the rotor continue to spin, but a true magnetic motor would accelerate indefinitely. Keep in mind that had he spun the rotor in a vacuum in zero gravity, it would spin indefinitely. 5 seconds is nothing compared to a gyroscope. There's nothing particularly special about aligning magnets to make your net drag as close to zero as possible.

I think the point is is that the mechanical output efficiency is greater than the input... meaning the mechanical energy that may have been produced while it was running for the 5 seconds would have been greater than the mechanical energy it took to start the thing spinning, which is the important part of any system

there's no need to think of it as a video-edit trick, by spinning it he gives the system energy (the force of him pushing the magnet) and all this proves is that it loses less energy over time by aligning the magnets differently. the last being the one that costs the system less energy over time, which in itself still is rather cool, fun stuff. a fraud would have been looping it "forever", so this is most probably no video-trick.

My thoughts exactly. Arranging the bearings simply helped balance the magnetic field. He created multiple N/S poles of variying strengths. If he could arrange enough bearings in just the right way, eventually it would be so balanced so as to have no real effect. It would be like spinning the magnet with no bearings.

Personally, I have first hand knowledge that a device can be created that makes use of the magnetic fields of permanent magnets to create continuous motion. I still have it here and it's still rotating for several weeks now. You can see it in the third video that I posted here, in youtube.

electron orbits are powered by quantum gravity which is nut fully understood if u line up those orbits it forms a magnetic feild you say theres no energy in quantum gravity surely u jest!

yes, but the energy in "quantum gravity" is potential energy, just like putting a slinky at the top of the stairs. When the slinky is carried up the stairs and placed standing at the top it has energy in it to. That energy is released by pushing the slinky and watching it slink down the steps, but at the bottom, the slinky must be carried back to the top by adding energy to the system.

Heya,
Try running the thing again, but without the outside magnets. I would be very interested to know if it runs for more than 5 seconds then.
So just the two center ones - the spinny one, and the one it's stuck to.
