Can one say what he means by not a comutator "a switch"? Is the comutator still used without a change, or is the comutor changed in some way he didn't mention?

a 12v battery should be charged at 12.8v or above to 14.4v before battery is overcharged

arent you getting AC output from the coil, and you are pumping this into your DC battery? I don't see a bridge rectifier in your circuit.. even car battery chargers use DC current applied to the battery not AC.. just curious as to what you think?

careful about disconnecting the battery the neon will not always protect your transistor. Much safer for the transitor to shut off power from primary. I have smoked a few transitor. Where did you get the flywheel? Thanks
