Nancy state is so ambiguous of a term it's impossible to discuss. The CDC number of 360,000 refers to "overweight + obese" deaths. And the study he cites has severe methodological flaws that are obvious to see if you bother to read the study in Heath Affairs.
@ASRIBEIRIO the concept of nanny state is pretty simple to understand. Whenever people in government (or their lackeys) decide that they know better than everybody else and decide to make laws infringing on the personal lifestyles of everybody, that is nanny statism.
