@pavilion1985 they wre thinking business and ways to save money while investing more in things that show sales are rising. you only think theyre stupid because you like oldsmobile... but in reality they were being smart knowing the oldsmobile sales were declining... show me an oldsmobile after 2000 that was a success.. exactly. you dont know what youre saying
My stepbrother has a 1982 Cutlass Supreme, and it looks just like the rest of the ones that you see black people driving: Rims, stupid ass paint job, loud ass speakers, redesigned interior. I hate it when people drive a Cutlass that looks like that.....
@pavilion1985 Yea wtf! right? If oldsmobile was still in, I'd bet they reintroduce the 442 rear wheel drive model like the 73 version. Much like what dodge, chevy, and ford did with their famous sellers. And I bet their W-42 option would've came with the 7.4L GM LS2 engine straight from the vette.
Interior and exterior trim changed somewhat over the years, I owned two 82s, both were Broughams with velour interior seats, the padded rear sail panels and one had a large factory moonroof/astroroof/sunroof
@boss12 dude im black and i hate when ppl have big ass rims and shit on there cars.. im like what the fuck are u doin to that classic car.. i have a 83 jjus like that one but blue and i kept it classic
If they were around $7K, you could expect to pay that much nowadays for them! I was told to sell my first 82 when I bought it, eventually it broke down, in hindsight I would have sold it!
Yeah first they ruined olds buy dumping all the rear wheel drive cars then they get rid of it just doesnt make sense the cars that sold the best and made olds great they dump stupid
nice 83 cutlass commercial im looking either a 83 85 or 87 cutlass supreme looking just like the car on the commercial but in a navy blue maroon red or black
I agree with you - the Olds name was both historic and relevant to buyers. GM didn't manage the Cutlass (or Oldsmobile) brand particularly well probably starting several years after this commercial aired.
True true!!! Oldsmobile went down the tubes when they restyled the Cutlass in 1988 as a front wheel drive, then decided to shed their image and make a new style of cars that looked like mazdas! I always loved Oldsmobile and was so disgusted with GM for losing their identity through the past 15 years!

@LuxeXx My first car was a 1979 Olds Cutlass back in 1979. I still have it parked in the garage and when I drive it is fine.
polarisathena 8 months ago
@polarisathena I double checked on that and you're corect.In 1979,your 1979 Cutlass would have been a 1979.

Those were great cars, but I think the 90% claim was bulls***. No four year old car is worth 90% of MSRP.
mastermann 2 years ago 3
back in the day things were different, my folks had a 1980 camaro ( just the lil old v6) that they paid $7500 for and in 86 they got back over $5000.
i wish shit was still like that

@mastermann You can get back 90% of what the car is worth if there is crazy inflation in the 4 years after you buy it.
