In that same inning, Alex Gonzales who 'never misses anything' screwed up on an easy double play that I could've made. Here's how I view it: I'm not mad at Bartman cause any fan would have done what he did, and it's the Cubs fault for giving up 8 runs, but there's a very good chance had his hands not touched that ball, nor any one elses, that the Cubs would have been 2003 NL Champions. World Series? I'm doubtful, but hey, the Marlins took care of the Yankees, maybe Chicago (I mean the REAL Chicago team, not the bandwagoners who were Cubs fans until 2005 and watch the Cubbies more than their own team) coulda too.
The problem wasn't Bartman at all; he didn't help, but the real problem was the Cubs lost their composure and melted down. Prior loses Castillo; then he hangs not one but TWO curveballs to Rodriguez, so now it's 3-1; then Gonzalez boots a guaranteed forceout, maybe a double play; then Lee doubles and just like that we're tied. If I was Alou, I'd be upset too, but if he hadn't lost his cool there, everyone may have been able to shrug it off. Best of luck in 2011.

How in the world does the city of Chicago blame Steve Bartman for costing them a chance for the World Series? In that same inning, Alex Gonzales who 'never misses anything' screwed up on an easy double play that I could've made. I'm not saying that Gonzales cost them either, but I'm saying that if there was someone to blame, it would've been him and not Bartman.

Watched the dummies throw the balls they bought at WALLMART back on the field. Bye the fourth inning saw Chicagos finest arresting half the fan base. @magnumfour88 I'm on this video because I searched Bartman on Youtube and found this song, and I agreed and liked it: they way certain Cub fans acted were ridiculous, and reflected on the rest of the fanbase. See unlike you, I can admit the flaws in my team and fanbase. Wrigley Field and the Cubs have countless traditions, many I haven't even mention, that you envy. Also if the Cubs need to start winning, what the hell do the Sux need to do? The Cubs have a .513 winning percentage, Sux .506 FAIL

You have one World Series title in 93 years. That is a HUGE flaw. Here's how I view it: I'm not mad at Bartman cause any fan would have done what he did, and it's the Cubs fault for giving up 8 runs, but there's a very good chance had his hands not touched that ball, nor any one elses, that the Cubs would have been 2003 NL Champions. World Series? I'm doubtful, but hey, the Marlins took care of the Yankees, maybe Chicago (I mean the REAL Chicago team, not the bandwagoners who were Cubs fans until 2005 and watch the Cubbies more than their own team) coulda too.

The problem wasn't Bartman at all; he didn't help, but the real problem was the Cubs lost their composure and melted down. Prior loses Castillo; then he hangs not one but TWO curveballs to Rodriguez, so now it's 3-1; then Gonzalez boots a guaranteed forceout, maybe a double play; then Lee doubles and just like that we're tied. If I was Alou, I'd be upset too, but if he hadn't lost his cool there, everyone may have been able to shrug it off. Best of luck in 2011.

Bartman should be a White Sox fan. They don't blame fans for losing. Also, US Cellar is a better ballpark than Wrigley in my opinion. The tickets are also less expensive. I wonder if Bartman plays baseball.

It's ignorant to blame a FAN of missing out on winning the 2003 World Series, when the play should have been ruled as fan interference. If anything, it should have been blamed on either the umpire's call, the bobble at shortstop, or the Cubs' pitching that inning. Or all of the above!

Who's to say that if he didn't reach over, that Alou woulnd't have caught the ball anyways?
The Marlins scored 8 RUNS after that incident. The Cubs made errors afterwards, and the pitching was horrible. If the Cubs were so great that year, why couldn't they recover after the Bartman incident?
Even if the Cubs DID advance to the World Series that year, who's to say that they would have beat the Yankees?
