There was nothing illegal about that. You are allowed to lead with your head on a ball carrier in the open field. As long as he is not defenseless, and he wasn't here, it is legal.
@BigD1116 WRONG dumbass!! According to the National Collegiate Athletic Association's 2005 Football Rules and Interpretations: "No player shall use his helmet (including the face mask) to butt or ram an opponent or attempt to punish him. There shall be no spearing. No player shall strike a runner with the crown or the top of his helmet."
i was looking for the punt return hit ealier this year that got the one guy thrown out of the game (NFL), and came across this. this was a piss poor no call and a spineless play
He's definitely a danger to the sport and should be kick out for poor sportsmanship. He does lead with his helmet, plain and simple too see. I hope he gets whats coming to him for this. How can you feel good about a hit like that?
To all the crybaby CAL fans who claim Follett is NOT leading with his helmet: You don't DIP your helmet down JUST before the point of impact (and the tackle) so that it meets the ball carrier's helmet, unless your intention is to deliver a blow to the head. Follett is 6'2" - Rodgers is 5' 8". ONLY Follett's helmet was lowered at the VERY last instant, not ANY other point of his body. He led with the CROWN of the helmet. Period. Not a shoulder or anything else you've imagined.
I watched it in slow motion, it's simply not posted in slow motion. There's nothing to wonder about. It is what it is. An intentional helmet-to-helmet hit.
The point of contact is NOT "blocked", whatsoever! We're still technically co-champs with $C - both 1 conference loss - not "outright champs." Therefore, you're wrong - yet again. Follett is a whiny, crybaby pussy is what Follett is - crying after the game that he was being held - with no calls - the whole game. Doesn't get much more CRYBABY than that! We're not Faber U. - we don't get "embarrassed" in bowls. So don't you worry your pretty little head.

You're right. I'm not. I have 2 eyes and 2 ears. I see it and I hear it. That's good enough for me.

I can slow it down to frame-by-frame to view it, Sparky. LOL @ leading with his shoulder. PUH-LEEEEZ!

Get a slow motion replay before claiming it's clear as day. Then talk to me.
