I live in southern IN. When i was a little kid there used to be ground hogs everywhere. I havent seen one in the last 3 years. The rabbit hunting used to be really good around here too. in the last 5 years there has been an exploding coyote population and an ever declining small game population. It wont take long before the damage they do is irreversible
More likely the rabbit/ground hog decline is due to human expansion.
Ironically enough, trying to cull the coyote population only forces them to breed earlier and have larger litters. With their natural prey in decline they are forced to hunt other prey and that's when they're labeled "nuisance animals"

I live in Townsend, TN and coyotes were LEGALLY introduced in the area to control the white tail population yet there's still plenty of game for hunters. nice thing about these traps is that if you get a domestic animal stuck in it, you can release it. even cats will live on a 1.5 trap. Once you catch a problem coyote, you release them or shoot them.

rarely but they do. I have used foot traps, conibears, and live. No others except funnel for fish. Maybe snares once in a while. If you kill them quickly or the trap like some is designed to just catch the foot like a hand rather than a duke # 4 foot trap which may take a animals leg off and leave it crippeled
a duke #4 is far to small to take off any animals leg, i use a #5 for beaver and there isnt even any hair missing, and if anything smaller than a large possum got in there a #4 would then become a body griper by killing the animal instantly
i think thats what we have a #4. Its a coyote trap. I small raccon is very tuff and the size of the body will keep the jaws from closing fast enough to do that. Unless the bait is underneath the trap and it closes around the head. DO remember i am a hunter and trapper. I am not a real trapper though.....i mean, look at my vids.

I'm a domestic dog hunter otherwise known as "DDH" I take domestic dog hunting very seriously. The pelts are much nicer and you have an array of choices in color and fur type from poodles to pitbulls. I've hunted them all. Coyotes are on the bottom of the K9 pole when it comes to brains and brawn and they are infested with ticks and fleas. Hunt domestic its closer than the woods and cleaner on the walls.

2. The county that I live in, the government took 900 plus coyotes. They shot them from helicopters and they only shoot to wound them, because they know they will die in the next week or so. They also don't even take the fur, they just leave them to rot. So, really is what I'm doing that bad?

actually ive have been caught in my own traps, i have snapped my whole hand in a modified offset montana #3(what i use for coyotes and bobcats), i waited for 3 hoursfor my grandpa to come find me and release me and i have to say that i was in no pain and even the coyote in the picture is not in pain

nice thing about these traps is that if you get a domestic animal stuck in it, you can release it. even cats will live on a 1.5 trap. Once you catch a problem coyote, you release them or shoot them.

rarely but they do. I have used foot traps, conibears, and live. No others except funnel for fish. Maybe snares once in a while. If you kill them quickly or the trap like some is designed to just catch the foot like a hand rather than a duke # 4 foot trap which may take a animals leg off and leave it crippeled

a duke #4 is far to small to take off any animals leg, i use a #5 for beaver and there isnt even any hair missing, and if anything smaller than a large possum got in there a #4 would then become a body griper by killing the animal instantly

i think thats what we have a #4. Its a coyote trap. I small raccon is very tuff and the size of the body will keep the jaws from closing fast enough to do that. Unless the bait is underneath the trap and it closes around the head. DO remember i am a hunter and trapper. I am not a real trapper though.....i mean, look at my vids.

I'm a domestic dog hunter otherwise known as "DDH" I take domestic dog hunting very seriously. The pelts are much nicer and you have an array of choices in color and fur type from poodles to pitbulls. I've hunted them all. Coyotes are on the bottom of the K9 pole when it comes to brains and brawn and they are infested with ticks and fleas. Hunt domestic its closer than the woods and cleaner on the walls.

2. The county that I live in, the government took 900 plus coyotes. They shot them from helicopters and they only shoot to wound them, because they know they will die in the next week or so. They also don't even take the fur, they just leave them to rot. So, really is what I'm doing that bad?
