i think your right budogden patton has moved on to tomahawk in terms of congealed band work and is equally awsome of all the shit patton does to this those are the 2 best things although i do kinda like his take on the bobby mcfarin approach i think it is called works of voice in adult themes
If they had not break up and instead continued and taken a maistream approach they would probably be one of the superbands of today, selling concerts in mere hours like U2...
@voutespancar FNM go mainstream? This is probability the most stupid fucking thing I've ever read on Youtube period.. Faith No More going mainstream is probably one of the worst possible things they could do. That's like saying 'I wish, anti-mainstream, anti-commercial band, System of a Down were mainstream'. Dude! SERIOUSLY!
@rob1993zombie SOAD is not an anti-commercial, anti-mainstream band... In fact, even casual listeners know about this band, it was one of the most voted bands for Rock In Rio 2011, one of the most mainstream events you could think about, where fucking Katy Perry will play.
FNM was not anti-mainstream, The REal Thing was a totally commercial album... Their later singles, Ashes to Ashes and Last Cup of Sorrow were very commercial. I'll take back what I said though, they would never be a superband
@voutespancar The Real Thing was only mainstream by accident. FNM had no idea that their sound would be that popular. The Real Thing took over a year after release to catch on, and that was because of how great the album was. What was FNM's response? To release one of the most anti-sellout followup albums ever in Angel Dust. Ashes To Ashes and Last Cup Of Sorrow were far from commercial. At this point, they were breaking no ground like before, but that album was more of a fan service.
i make a point not to read youtube comments, as, there's nothing you can post to add anything to a performance, especially like the FNM reunion tour. best band ever! patton is god! i'm awesome since i like these awesome things! and no i don't think they should make a new album.
I wish that they would have played Ugly in the Morning instead of this one. If we get to pick songs off of KfaD, that is. I've always thought that this is one of the weaker songs on the album.
this song ment soo much for so long now i can say my best friend of 20+ years has finaly stopped drinken, now i hear this song and its like damn good for you JD
this is one of my favorite songs of theirs. brilliantly composed and performed. man, i've been waiting so long for them to come back, and they do, and it's like their live performances got better. and they can still rock a crowd of whatever, 70,000 or whatever it is. FNM<3 come to nyc! please! this country is in a musical crisis. there's nothing good coming out anymore.
i don't know, i want to say HELL YEAH!!, but think of the expectations that album would have to live up to...i don't think my heart could withstand it if it wasn't good
@budogden That is a major thumb's up because they were the most unique band album per album and the only one that I know that can not only change tempo song for song and keep it sounding right but the most talented that was ever in the mainstream since Led Zepplin
@budogden No, FNM disbanded for a specific reason; they just weren't very good anymore. Whatever they had, was gone by 1998. It's definitely not there now, no matter how awesome they were and they know it. It's better that they just leave it as is.
"I just felt like I turned into Jim Martin!" What did Roddy mean by that comment? Also, what were the missing songs that they played? There are some gaps in this playlist.
It could be that it was because of Martin's crowd banter/groupie shagging...Roddy was probably a reference to that, after inviting like the whole of donnigton back to his tent. FNM were disdainful of such cliched malarkies back in the day...
I couldn't make it to Download this year as I was on holiday... was absolutely gutted about missing FNM but now I get to see them at Leeds Festival, can't bloody wait!!
Faith No More more were simply by far in a league of their own that weekend. One of the best performances of skill and raw talent that you will ever see. The originality and influence this band has made for music is astounding. None of that line-up or any other for that matter can compete with the genius they come up with. Truly amazing. U see loads of washed up has beens do these `reunions` and its well, to say the least often disappointing, but not these guys. They sort of added somthing extra
i'm happy for the scottish drunk guy down at the front who said before they came on that he wanted more than anything for FNM to play "take this bottle" as they never played it and he never heard them play it live...
i wanted jizzlobber and pristina, but you can't have everything.
Totally agree with you comments. I felt exactly the same. I've been a fan of FNM since my mate lent me 'The Real Thing' back in the early 90's and I fell in love eversince. I feel Angel Dust is their best album. and it does take a few listens before you fall in love with it but that's the nature of FNM.
Gorgeous song. Nobody gave a fuck about "King For A Day" here in the US. I bought it the first week it came out. I stumbled upon it in a record store since their label didn't feel like promoting it and it is still one of my all time favorite albums ever. Only "Angel Dust" can top it.

I was so excited about the release of KFAD, I went and bought the vinyl record that came out a week before, just so I could get my hands on it.
I don't think there has been one FNM album where I didn't initially think "WTF?" on the first listening. That's what makes them so great.
They are different individually and all over the map in likes and dislikes, but combined they are just great f*king musicians!
