many thanks for the comment. More parking spaces equals more cars in the car park, and fewer motorists driving on the roads. The train service from Newbury to Paddington is not as good as from that from Whitchurch to Waterloo - particularly for people heading for the City or Whitehall.
The proposition has support from the vast majorioty of folk in Whitchurch who have been good enough to contact me.
Thanks for this - I catch a Cango bus on Mondays to go to Andover station, and would encourage commuters who are on a route to do likewise if they can. That would help free up some space. But they tend not to run off-peak, and that is when the carpark is full.
Thanks for the comment; I have spent a bit of time in the last few weeks in Whitchurch, in connection with the local elections. The overwhelming view of local people is that the land should be used for a station carpark, promoting sustainable travel and making the residentila roads safer.
