Okay NFd maybe nowhere close to Fotn elizium, but theyr'e okay, at least they are sticking it out, time will tell maybe their own Elizium is on the horizon.
@nefhead I think not but they shouldn't be compaired of contreasted with FotN, their sounds is very different, they only share one member. SImon rippen could be considered an ex-FotN member so that makes 2 but still 2 totally different bands which i both happen to like either way..
NFD do some great stuff, FotN do some great stuff, both are individual. 24th Moment was brill for me, seeing NFD in Nottingham last year was brill, now going to Dublin to see NFD... looking forward to it. Is Bob going to buy the guiness?
Don't think Bob is trying to imitate Carl at all, the vocal style is perfect for the music... loads of singers have a similar style I can really hear Nick Holmes in this but Bob's got great vocals on his own... kick ass tune
Yah, for sure. As I imagine, McCoy's line-up also kicks ass. The only decent song I see on it is "Requiem XIII-33 (Le Veilleur silencieux)".
Dear mr. McCoy, where are the "Fields of the" on the new album? In my opinion, Zoon was really good (as McCoy's personal work, not making references to FotN), but after it, as nefhead says, almost 10 years passed and what we got? - A piece of industrial bullshit straight from McCoy's garage (called The Ice Cage).
Well, that's what happens when you create an album without musicians. ;)
The people that created the sound of FotN were the Wright brothers, Yates and Pettit. Cut them out and what do you have left? A dark ego with a sampler.
Fields broke up in 1991. Case closed, no matter what name Carl stamps his homemade sample projects with. Nothing will ever touch the original albums, it just turns out like Mourning Sun.
I prefer FotN too this band just seems to be a heavier version really. I still like em a lot but they did it first with McCoy and the original will alwyas be the best.
Agree. They should reunite really, no-one of those actual post-Nephilim projects will never sound as good as the original Fields of the Nephilim. Of course, this won't happen.
Anyway, I'm really surprised with this band: every time they arrive higher and higher to the climb of the goth rock's mountain. They do it with every release: if the debut "No Love Lost" was good, with the last album they simply exceeded all the expectations and they seem to bring even more now with "Deeper Visions"!
Out of all post-fotn bands that I've listened to (and bought albums of as a general neph-collector) Last Rites stands out as the best. The Wright brothers didn't take the scraps of the Neph-sound and try to live on that (well, Rubicon tried, with that awful vocalist Andy Delaney), instead they created a genre of their own.
Rock 'n' Roll! Great editing/ cool video that proves you don't have to spend millions/take years to show how good a band is... And the song is bloomin' good too.
this song is so kickass

Bob definitely tried doing the McCoy thing with Sensorium. He's moved slightly towards his own sound with NFD though.

OMG Mourning Sun kicks some serious fucking ASS!
NFD was good if the singer didn`t try to imitate McCoy. FotN > NFD...ALWAYS!

What is left behind if you cut of the sound? There is still substance, a mythology, charisma and a awesome talent in creating music.

Good song. I think the vid's okay, nothing earth shattering, but it goes well with the song.
Looking forward to the new release.
