The original "REC" and "REC 2" is amaazing! Best horror movies I've ever watched. And the follower "REC 2" is at least as good as the first, maybe even better!! It's also great, that the follower really FOLLOWS up on the first - you don't miss a year or something like that, the movie begins exactly where the first one stops. Perfect.

The first film was one of the best horror movies of all time, in my opinion. What is so frightening about films like 'Rec`' is that it could actually happen. One of these days there is really going to be a virus that will bring the dead back to life. However, in the first film, it was a case of 'demonic possession'.

I don't know how I would behave in those situations. But that doesn't mean the writers can get away with everything. All those characters in the movies are supposed to well-trained professionals who are depolyed to handle extreme situations.

Well the priest should have, and clearly he has forgotten his training. He obviously doesn't have the ability to evaluate the situation and is incapable of giving orders. If the mission is so important why couldn't he ask for backup, when there are literally 100s of officers outside.

And as for the SWAT team, well, if they can miss a target within 5 meters with submachine guns, they might as well have no trainning at all.

U dont see stupid shits like this in good monster movies.

The priest looks like he has a lot of theoretical knowledge but lacks the practice. He does save their lives on a couple of occasions. Plus he has not seen the girl for a long time. He doesn't know what she evolved into. He doesn't know there are a bunch of possessed children in the building.

Backup? He can't call for backup. They can't send hundred soldiers into the building. He explains it. Either they get the girls blood or die.

Give me an example of a good monster movie.

The blood is important to level of threatening national security and the priest understands that. Any responsible person would/should report to his superior if he cannot complete the mission (which is evidential when the SWAT team was down to 2 and were in total panic). And what's about the voice recognition radio? Absolutely poinless.

Good monster movies: Aliens, Predator, Cloverfield, the crazies. The monsters were actually scary not because the characters are retarded.

As long as the priest is alive he has to try and get the blood sample. Doesn't matter how many soldiers he has with him. They didn't show the evacuation procedure but my guess is, and we will see that in the following movies, that this was a suicide mission from the start. All they want, whoever is in charge, is the blood. The priest knows that. The soldiers realize it, at least subconsciously, after they see what is going on in the building. That would be the point of the radio

I like your monster movies but I really wasn't scared by the monsters in them. But then again I wasn't scared by the zombies in REC. And you are mixing up your sci fi with old fashioned zombie/demonic possession horror flicks here.
