I think that as someone who has played FE9 and 10, you should know that Ike has far too many friends.

I don't know how you know I played those, but Ike on FE10 is arrogent, goes out to war for no reason, makes the dumbest descisions, doesn't care for some of his friends at all, doesn't listen to some, etc.

Basically, he gets his ass kicked all the time in brawl by anyone a little quicker than him, so put those facts together, and you get Ike+no friends

Ike made the best decisions in the game siding with the Laguz. There is no sign of arrogance from me. And if he made the worse decisions, then the Greil Mercenaries would have left him specifically Shinon who supposedly hates him but sticks by his side like everyone else.

And be realistic- for one dead messenger you go out on a war that would kill tens of thousands? And against the empire which helped him last war. Plus letting Yune get free. In FE9 he was much more humble, listened more, fought for his country, not just to get a word with some senators...In FE10 when you fight him with Soth, his kindness is expressed by agreeing to kill him faster for less pain (and Soth thanks him for that...pathetic)

Yune isn't evil. The Dragon King made it so she seemed evil so that's not selfish. And it was Micaiah that released her so Ike had nothing to do with it.

He still fights for his country and the Laguz. After all the senators attacked Crimea when Elincia wouldn't give an answer and when the royal knights were defending the town, they were labeled as traitors. Besides, Ike fights with Sanaki. That's not betraying Bengion.

With Sothe. Would you spare someone on the other side? It's war.

I didn't say Yune was evil, but he almost caused a catastrophy- if she WAS evil (which was what they thought), he shouldn't have taken the risk.

And that was AFTER Ike started fighting in an unjustified war. Whole cities fell just because they overreacted to Begnion's rotten senate's actions.

And Ike heard from Tauroneo how he can't let them pass, so at least he could trust his friend who knew better.

And through all the game Ike thought himself great. He lost his humble qualities.

Daein fell apart because of them attacking Crimea 3 years ago. They got what was coming to them.

And only Phoenics was lost in the battle. It wasn't overreacting. The Laguz wanted to know if what Rafiel told them was true. The Senators responded by killing the messenger. That was instigation right there from their side.

Micaiah was the one who kept telling Ike that they wouldn't surrender or negotiate. Not Ike's fault. Micaiah was being difficult and that was how Sothe almost got killed.

That's right, but I'm not talkking about FE9, that game was great, I'm talking only about FE10 and how Ike ignored Soren's advices, Tauroneo, the medallion and the cost of war to know what happenned long ago. Think about the Begnion troops Ike fought- the people he would join later, and probably some that helped him earlier- how could he agree to start killing them with the Laguz? Surely he could personally reach the senate on his own without a war, THAN fight them. Why destroy a whole country?

Because the Senators were evil. You saw how they were willing to kill all the Laguz nations and anybody who wouldn't side with them. They even turned on their own Apostle and Sephran to achieve this. They were far from negotiation.

The war is unavoidable. It's not that he wasn't listening to them. Bengion was making it impossible. There is no right and wrong in war and when you join the war, you know you'll might have to face your enemies that were once friends. Thats how war plays out.

No, that's not. In Fire Emblem the smart lords knew how to be on the good side constantly. Ike STARTED the war. How about Ephraim from FE8? He reached the enemy capital TWICE, without even confronting the main army of the enemy. Marth warped into the heart of the dragon kingdom with that sage's magic, Eliwood and company always tried to bipass the enemy- not to conquer it.

And Ike could just march in as a former ally and kill the senate once inside.

Eventually, what was achieved in the war?

You got to remember that Ike is not royalty. Everyone you mentioned is royalty and they all have their way of approaching war. And personally, Ike couldn't just storm in. He was already friends of the Laguz so even if he marched into the capital, even if you kill the Senates, and they found out, then how do you think Bengion would respond? They would be after Ike and co for the rest of their lives and drag the Laguz down with them.

And the war supposedly caused Beorc and Laguz to cooperate.

It's even in the theme song of Fire Emblem- they tell how they go to fight the enemy to protect their home or end a war. I only have FE 7, 8, 9, 10 and 10, but so far in none of them the hero attacked others first...

Anyway, I always liked the "wise" characters of Fire Emblem more. Like Ephraim- with a couple of knights he could resist an empire =]

Sorry to tell you, but FE 7 has the most amazing story I ever saw in all my played hundreds of games. And you can explore it in so many (fun) ways and do so many things that it can glue you to it for months and even years! Same for FE8, just with less things to explore. FE11 is really shallow, without any depth, and FE10 is forced to go the way it does. FE9 doesn't reveal so many things, that's it's sad they ruined the idea of it in FE10...

Seriously- FE 7, 8 have much better main characters.

Usually, I say out all of the games, this is the best one because its the only one I played. I bet 7 would be good. I mean, I played it once because my cousin had it but thats it and I didn't get to play much before playing Brawl and kicking the crap out of them before they started teaming up against me...unfare bastards...

Sadly, FE10 violated many of the regular codes of the other FE games. As you hear in their commercials, songs, and stories themselves (remember the selected SSBM song "Together We Ride"), the heroes of the story fight alongside each other. Some of them are even enemy generals who have such a strong friendship and sense of justice that they join you against the ones they served before. It's giving you a good feeling- knowing you're on the right side. In FE10 sadly it wasn't that way...

The ONLY thing I didn't like about the game, is the support and how many characters had such a small role unless they were royalty. I also didn't like the ending. You know how certain characters did certain things at the end. Some of it was completely OOC.

Well, you can try VBA. I tried getting FE6, but while I saw there weren't any left to download, there were many FE7 downloads.

In the GBA Fire Emblems it's much easier to make support. And it's mostly more interesting.

And I also have to add Ike's weird destiny- why would he never come back? What? Did he suddenly decide he wants to live alone the rest of his life? Or did he foolishly die in an accident (and after surviving all those wars..)? Either way, it's no creative ending....

Yes, it's not a bad game, so I like it as well, but as a Fire Emblem game I see it as a failure, because all other Fire Emblem games were better at everything.

Maybe it was deeper in story than FE11, but still nothing thrilling or strongly emotional. Quite disappointing...

You got to admit, seeing a Trueblade pulling off Astra is awesome. (I never get to see the full animation because 1. I turn it off when Edward or Mia attack all five times. 2. The enemy is too weak and Edward or Mia kill them in 2-3 hits.)

Yes, those abilities were a nice addition. Thankfully they didn't ruin this part as well in FE10.

One of my favorite units is the "hero" class. It was kinda disappointing not to have any. Only Ike, who was quite exceptional at that as well (he couldn't even use an axe before promotion).

Well, whenever I had a FE game, I dedicated about a month or two to unlock everything (like conversations) and reach perfection in any possibility, but after reaching the end of FE10, I felt more like playing other games like Super Paper Mario. This game doesn't grant the player any good feeling regardng his part in the story- you develope troops which you'll eventually have to fight against. I don't know, it bugs me...

Perfection is a bitch. I'm striving for that in Path of Radiance AKA transfer the conversations to Radiant Dawn. I got all of Shinon's, Gatrie's and Soren's support and let me just say, I HATE ASTRID when I did her support with Gatrie. Bitch knows that Gatrie does like her but when he's about to tell her, she flat out says she's engaged. HOWEVER, she runs off to ugly Marklov in the end. I was so pissed with her. I actually killed in one of my playthroughs.

I'm not the type of person to hate on characters at all. They have to really pull my strings to put them on my hate list. Astrid is the ONLY Fire Emblem character I hate. In fact, I'm playing the game again now, and during the chapter where you got to defend the unarmed Elincia, this soldier ran up to her and killed her in two hits. I laughed so hard at how bad she was compared to everyone else not getting doubled. And Gatrie was nearby but I just had him stand in front of Shinon. XD

Well, Ike went on a war for no real reason, kept fighting Deain even when Tauroneo, a close friend and one with more knowledge in the subject at the time told him it was wrong, he didn't stand by Soren's side when should have, he became arrogant, and he was too dumb to think before he spoke! He was my favorite lord (or main hero...) on Path of radiance, but Radient Dawn turned his character upside down. In his second game, he was no longer nice, or that pure of will.

WRONG, i play as Metaknight, Olimar, Snake, but mostly MK. Ike is Tougher, sorta sheap, but so is MK. Sonic is the cheapest though. Ike presents a different challenge because you always have to be ready for that big B fireball move.
