  • 00:51 - 00:52 fail

  • Or you can hit it of the glass that's what I do and it works well :D

  • @milesjordan239 It gives the opponent a lot of time though and reduces your shot options. Always a good shot to have in a fix though :D

  • I love how he fed himself the easiest dig shots ever.

  • This is a load of rubbish, no offense man. I have been playing squash for 2 months, and those shots being demonstrated did not require 'digging' (Depending on your definition of digging of course.) A hard shot that you need to dig is one that comes in slow and close to the wall, hits the side wall about a foot off the ground and a foot from the back wall, ricochets to the back wall and only bounces off 6 inches - hitting those shots is hard, and that where you need to dig them out of.

  • @AlzarnsFire well u are shit...2months of playing u better shut up cos he is right!

  • @vszabad According to whom? You? I am being taught by an A grade squash champ and those are not moves that he recommends. Take a look at the first two shots - he sort of flicks them, ok you gota do that at times, but its getting close to breaking the rules. The rest are mainly forehand drill shots. For the record his advice for staying out from the wall and away from the ball is spot on.

Cheers mate, btw try and avoid personal attacks like 'you are shit'. Works on the net but not in RL.

  • @Dylanjharris1996 shut up! make a video and then get kids like you coming and saying that...jeez!

  • if you read my comment on the backhand drive i was right and its good for him to emphasize giving room because in backhand he was close and pointing feet to back corner

  • 0:54 what is he hit himself in the face?

    HAHAHAHAAHAHHAHA

  • I've never been taught, used, or taught any student of mine this shot. This is not a recognised squash stroke. This is a desperate 'palming' or push shot to get to the front.

  • the beginning was good but in the middle and at the end he was hiting the shot with a full swing so he was'nt doing a forehand dig shot

  • He may as well have been hitting these shots from the centre of the court, there was no digging what so ever apart from the very first shot which was a wrist flick!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • After seeing a few of this guys video, I'm convinced that these aren't the best coaching videos there are. There's no digging here. The balls are far out from the back wall. And his shots are suspect. He can't feed himself good balls.

  • If the ball is very tight in the corner, the only way of getting them back is by using the wrist to flick it back as shown in the first few balls of the video. For less tighter balls you can get the swing in as demonstrated.A final comment: I have noticed that badminton players who play squash can use their wrist effectively .

  • Knockoutpill is correct. Maybe a bit strong but the techniques used mostly are not dig techniques. He misemphasizes what's really essential until the end.

  • His videos are extremely useful!!

I'm glad about the fact that he couldn't get that last ball whereafter he says 'so that ball was too tight'.. if he even can't get those balls, then i'm really determined to learn how to play it like he does in the video..

So knockoutpill, how do you like them appels ;) ?

  • Every trainer has his own Technique. Some are good some not. But at least he has tried to produce dissent video. Most of his tips are really good. And anyway even if the ball comes closer to the wall the technique doesn't change very much. You can even use the same swing for a boast.

  • This guy has horrible technique. The only balls that are even close to the wall are the first ones and he's just doing a panncake return with those ones, with no swing at all, all wrist. "That ball was too tight". LOL, yeah, it was only 2.5 feet from the wall...

  • Who are you to say this? Your ranking? Wins? If he has a technique that you don't like how about showing the technique that you feel is appropriate?

  • Who am I to say that his definition of "the corner" is 2.5 feet from the wall? I'm someone who can see that 2.5 feet from the wall clearly isn't in the corner. Some of the shots he's making is over a yard from the wall, with full swing.

  • My question to you was related to your comment about his 'horrible technique'. What is wrong with his technique of getting the ball out of the corner? OR are you really saying that his TEACHING comments are not accurate..... meaning that your communication skills are not accurate?

  • I'm saying that he's not displaying how to hit the ball in the corner since he's playing it a yard away from the corner. The only ball that's close to the corner is two and a half feet away from it and he can't dig that ball out.

  • On the balls that he manages to put close to the wall he's doing two major errors: he's not bending his knees enough and he's using too much of a normal swing (he needs to use his wrist a lot more).

If you had ever trained or competed in squash you'd know this.

  • The question is not what I know but what you are saying. Right? This conversation was never about what I know or don't. Let's go back to your original comment.... 'horrible technique'.... yet you were really speaking about his teaching style. Finally you corrected your communication to state what you really meant... 'he's not bending and swinging too much'..... do you really think the word 'horrible' is appropriate??? That was my original comment.

  • Sure. If you don't bend your knees and use your wrist on shots in the corner you won't be able to dig them out. Hence "horrible". It seems that word is what put your panties all in a bundle, so this discussion is pretty meaningless. I'll leave it to you to continue discussing with yourself.

Just watch the video. It's called "forehand dig shots", yet he's not doing any dig shots. He's hitting the ball with full swing. To see the technique in action, watch a video with any of the top players.

  • K.O.P's right....this guys a.quarter-miler.

  • Really good advice

  • Thank you so much for this! I was wondering how to hit those annoying corner shots!
