10-5 are the normal business hours of most businesses in Perth. On special occasions and around Christmas many are open to 9. Restaurants/pub usually have hours that extend into the evening.

Perth does not consist of global multinationals who can force their employees into a 24 hour/day schedule - many are the "mom and pop" stores with the owner in the store, who still understand that human values not corporate profit is more important.
