At 15 I had a 1960 model identical to yours, right down to the creme luggage rack. Traded it in on a car at 16. Now my daughter found me another, but with the big shiny rack.
I had a 1970 maroon one it looked the same so for 10years no change. I did swop it in for a Garelli tiger cross after 6 months I have a pic of it. If you want to see it drop me your e mail.
I had one of these when I was 13, paid $60.00 for it, what fun, traded up to a 64 Vespa 150 after a year. I got my drivers license at the age of 14, and sold it to my neighbor. I'm 60 now, wish I still had both of them!
It would be interesting to know how many Sears sold in that time, seems like anyone who were kids in that period owned one. I'm 63 and guilty myself, loved it and still miss it.
@alexsuchapimp No it is air cooled. The cylinder head is in a shroud and has a fan on the left side in front of the magneto which blows air thru the cover.
Piece of shit? I ride a Harley but still think this is cool, I'd love it!

Saw a lot of these when I was a boy in Holland in the '60s. Of course they weren't called Allstates', just Puchs'.

No, it is air cooled. The engine has a shroud around it that air is forced thru from a fan on the magneto and it flows across the cooling fins.
dwtastic 1 year ago
Is it liquid cooled? The engine doesn't look like it has any cooling fins on it
