that like really hurts to watch, I bet all that stuff was fixable or if anything the parts could be used to fix other units. and if not that i could have probably hacked a lot of that stuff and build something cool out of it all. man what a shame to see stuff like this get shredded. electronic stuff especially 90s electronics down to like the 60s and 70s is way hackable.

About the whole recycling thing...Yeah did you notice the spinning wheel at the end that was collecting the Metal (recyclable) from the scrap and dumping it in a seperate bin. then the plastic (recyclable) goes on for further processing. By shredding they eliminate the process of having to dismantle the waste by hand. Chunk it in pieces come out. I as a IT Tech person love this video.

How would that be recycling if there in fact you have to pay for the machine and the oil and gas to run it. how are you changing anything. half of what falls ends up in dust on the ground which is swept up and thrown out anyway. It doesn't make sense to recycle it takes more energy I hope.

that is what recycling is, which is why you are supposed to REDUCE, REUSE then recycle.

that being said, the energy savings with recycling far out way mining new material. ditto with environmental issues. Removing and refining ore uses stupidly huge amounts of energy.
