  • what the hell is fougasse?

  • @scooter14441 Sort of early mines. Although they have to be set off by a nearby unit so it's not like they are triggered by stepping on them. Used during european wars in the 18th century (1700-1800) Source; ETW ;)

  • Only light infantry units can lay fougasse when your army is entrenched, i.e. it has been immobile for 2 turns and is attacked. However, in my game, fougasse only explodes once spreading shrapnel. This video seems to use some mod that replaces that shrapnel with grenades.

Some patch also broke the puckle gun and it's range was reduced to 45 yards or something so it became totally useless as even line infantry has a greater range.

  • @meshafi the fougousse u see here is the more advanced version, u get it with the more advanced light infantry like green jackets, ones that shoot 125 range

  • What? They have clamores!

  • trust me i played empire total war for more than 300 hours total there is no fougasse in empire total war. probably napoleon total war. the title lies.

  • @clonewarspro Its the ottoman organ gun.

  • @clonewarspro there is fougousse, i have played etw 500 hours

  • @clonewarspro You're funny. I'm using them right now (dutch riflemen) in ETW. Shows that this game deserves more than a puny 300 hours...

  • OMG Bulgaria at 2:51!!! I suddenly want this game!

  • this song is called the final countdown

  • Rockets are just scary. they don't do shit though.

  • @Lukasmbtv they only scare rabbles, line infantry dnt care when they hit

  • how do you get fougasse it looks so epic?

  • at 4:10 that polish guy

    "aww fuck this!"

  • what about the organ gun

  • Great video dude!!

  • 0:43 PERFECT MUSIC SYNCHRONIZATION!

  • what song

  • @Adam13115511 You've never heard The Final Countdown by Europe? Wow

  • You may apologyse me for the ignorance, but what the hell is fougasse ?

  • @yundawitch its a trap which is deployed like trenches and those anti-cavalry spike, but only light infantry can place them and they work like claymore

  • I love how empire total war can imitate WW1/WW2 eg: rockets for the russians, mines for the Persians(terrorists) and puckle guns for the Germans (machine gun) not to mention being able to do beach landings and set up trenches! :)

  • is this game any good considering getting them all

  • @Devistator308 it's awesome , my advice is to get it... I was playing Shogun2 but I don't like the era and the whole samurai theme and stuff although it is nicely done. I'm instaling this tomorrow to play again :D

  • they should make a world war 2/1 game, thumps up so everyone can see it!!!!!

  • @rexboy6

This really isn't worthy of a single thumbs up, besides, WW1/2 didn't use tactics that would suit the Total War series and there's so many other WW RTS games around.

Look up Company of Heroes, best God damn World War 2 strategy you'll play.

  • He has Darth Mod: Ultimate Commander :-( I want DM:UC

  • how did you get yellow uniforms on Spain??

  • fuckkk.... the shrapnel rounds look devastating! :O

  • bombardment mortars with percussive shells outclass both the 24 pounder and the 4 inch mortars; organ guns will do more damage than rockets (and half the units on this roster) in many situations.

  • you appear to have missed Spartans from the list

  • I want a fugasse!!!

  • 4:13

this guy said : WTF what just happen , lets run

  • Sorry... but this list pales in comparison to the true #1 most deadly weapon in TW

    The Prussian Army XD

  • @KillerCroconaw They do Kick ass :D

  • hey if u have steam u can add me names nVsharpp dis is not mine acount my yahoo caount is nVsharppsharpp@yahoo.com

  • Guy at 3:15: How the fu...

Also the Fougasse guy was like "see that guy? Fuck him and...everyone else on the battlefeild"

  • What weapon fires fougasse

  • still a cool video though

  • you didn't show rockets that much

  • fougasse is bloody devastating.... :O

  • 4:44 Everybody play graveyard 3,2,1...

  • What is the nation at 3:52 ?

  • @Jboy599 Columbia, it's in late campaign.

  • @RaptorOfTheWest Awesome

  • 4:10 CHARGE ! BOOM ! uh ? am the only one alive? MAMA (runs)

  • @Pooternackle5 Not if you have an army of them! *Re-enacts D-Day*

  • How do you place these land mines?

  • this is Napolean: Total war, isn't?

  • @GeneralUltramar It is Empire Total war. It is even written in the title of the video.

  • In game Artillery isnt that strong, I quess this is some kind of a mod

  • @dikkenerd100 its not

  • lol, rockets actually suck ass, you'd need a whole 16 batteries to actually do any proper damage...

  • @ThePerson158 I've actually noticed that they mind rape the morale out of the enemy soldiers. They have a worse psychological impact than physical.

  • @ThePerson158 Believe me I know -_-. I was really far in my campaign as the French and finally was able to build some rockets. I used like 8 or 10 in a battle and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I was pissed.

  • @ThePerson158 Not really. Damage isn't always the key. Morale plays half the outcome of the battle. The rockets scare and deplete morale off enemy units. Image marching in a line across a field, while being targeted by muskets, and then seeing a huge array of rockets coming towards you. Now, I know that I would crap my pants if I was there, and you would probably too.

  • how do you get that weapon

  • agree with all except rockets. srsly?? maybe in naval battles but in land battles it just looked like i was lighting fireworks

  • A fougasse (pronounced /fuːˈɡɑːs/) is an improvised mine constructed by making a hollow in the ground or rock and filling it with explosives (originally, black powder) and projectiles.

  • @Arcticcfoxx

    Nice wikipedia searching!

  • @freaktong How did you get the fugasse?

  • Appropriate song xD

  • NICE!

  • How the fuck do u get ROCKETS!!!!!

  • @machineuk1 rocket reseach (dutch can do it)

  • what about organ guns

  • Rockets can me do shit :)

  • never come across the foulgasse before, probably means I'm a noob. :(

  • My first battle ever was a disaster. I had no idea about the mortars.....until my opponent used 5 units in my first match. Needless to say I did not get close to his lines at all.

  • So people know what this is about.... pickle guns lob jars of pickles at the enemy and the foulgasse guns lob containers of foul gas which is concentrated farts compressed into a jar.

  • I think that 2 and 3 should be switched...they are the same ammo but the mortar has a longer range.

  • how do you get puckle gun

  • @slemsven01 alot of turns of arty reasearch...

  • So I've been confused the only difference between the canister and shrapnel is that shrapnel has the longer range?

  • @aznpwnerp canister basically turns the cannon into a giant shotgun and shrapnel is more like a modern day cannon where it shoots a single projectile that explodes on impact and little pieces of shrapnel go everywhere

  • how do u get the fugasse? O_o

  • @ForgottenSouI i think you have to leave an army with light infantry on the map somewhere so they fortify or whatever its called and you will have the option of placing the fugasse during the time when you set up your army

  • @ForgottenSouI Riflemen when defending in a siege ;D

  • @ForgottenSouI light infantry :)

  • this sucks! what tf is a fougasse

  • 4:14 the last survivor of the ubnit. thats a sighn from god... FRO MFOR YOUR LIFE BEFORE THE EXPLOSIVES

  • the balance problem of thsi isa that if NTW artillery would be liek this, it would practically be all in base of artullery. no infrntry no calvary, thta is why qall thsoe weapons were nerfed on NTW

  • The puckle gun is terrible.

  • how do you use alll of these shown

  • Give me a fugasse, and i will destroy the earth, the moon, the sun and maybe jupiter...

  • the puckle gun sucks

  • @reanactingjerseyguy It does under certain conditions. But if you have an open field in front of you with a few puckle guns and some men guarding them, they do enormous damage. Even if they miss half the shots, I've routed entire armies just because of the fear effect it gives off. try using them in a formation like this;

lines are line infantry, ^ are puckle gun regiments

    \__^__/\__^__/

they should have overlapping fields of fire, and be able to basically hit anything threatening eachother

  • @thespartanIII thats sometimes true but im saying one unit only kills like 3 guys each volley

  • @reanactingjerseyguy I've never had that experience on VH/VH, but even if it is true, it reloads in seconds and has infinite ammo so it can keep up a constant barrage.

  • @thespartanIII what do u mean VH/VH?

  • @reanactingjerseyguy Very Hard Campaign Difficulty and Very Hard Battle Difficulty. standard format for saying your difficulty in Total War games, at least on the forums it is. It might be backwards but I have Very Hard for both so yeah

  • @thespartanIII oh ok. how do you set the difficulty for the battles?

  • @reanactingjerseyguy When you start a new campaign there should be an option for campaign and battle difficulty. Barring that, while in a campaign press 'escape' to bring up the menu on the strategy map (the one where you can see all your cities and manage them), click on the tab that says 'Game', and there should be a slider that says 'Battle Difficulty'. move the slider left or right for easy to very hard. IT might not be a slider, it might be a pop-down menu, I dont remember.but you'll see it

  • what units have the fougasse or how can i get it

  • @Yorgar its a russian weapon!

  • @Oisin095 why use them then? why not just go to battle medieval style witha pistol in your belt? makes more sense to me :P

  • @ShootANerdMaster Pretty much, they did. Artillery would soften enemy lines. Then, when infantry were in range, they would fire about 2 volleys before charging with bayonets. With a successful cavalry flank, you would crush your enemy's will to fight, and they would retreat. I like your sword-in-hand with pistol-in-holster idea, tho. Imagine the 300 Spartans with it.

  • @zion653 yhea but they gave up medieval styled armor and knights if they had kept themeselves fully armored and just carried a pistol with some cannons in the back lines guarded by heavy knights it would have been awesome kinda like the polish reiters but a full army of them

  • The puckle shot is the most useless piece of artillery I have ever used in the game.

  • @freaktong SUUUUPPPPER COOOOOOL VIDEO

  • please elaborate on the fougasse is it looks devastating

  • I tend to disagree with the "complete" useless ness of rockets, although immobile(?) and rather inaccurate, they can do serious damage to buildings and to armies in sieges, good for rooting out camping units and eliminating an entrenched army.

  • once I won battle with 800 Russians ag. 2400 Austrians, my cannons on hill killed 1800 Austrian troops with canister shots

  • WTF is a fugasse??

  • A fougasse is a kind of landmine. Consider it an early Claymore, if you will.

  • @TheWoodstock2009 i think is some kind of claymore

  • @TheWoodstock2009 landmine

  • @cookiemonster9052 never seen O__O

  • @TheWoodstock2009 I'm french, and the only thing I know about "fougasse" is that it's a kind of bread

  • @TheWoodstock2009 light infantry can deploy fougasse (mines) if they remain in the same place on the campaign map for more than two turns. I think.

  • @TheWoodstock2009 its a mine

  • @TheWoodstock2009 when you besiege a enemy city after a certain amount of time they will come out and attack you. light infantry can deploy fugasse's just like line infantry can deploy trenches

  • @TheWoodstock2009 A fougasse (pronounced /fuːˈɡɑːs/) is an improvised mine constructed by making a hollow in the ground or rock and filling it with explosives (originally, black powder) and projectiles. This technique was used in several European wars, the American Revolution, and the American Civil War. The term is still used to describe such devices.

  • @TheWoodstock2009 its something that REALLY fucks shit up 0.0

that is all i know, and that i want one of those

  • @TheWoodstock2009 I believe its a defensive mechanism (like the stakes, sandbags, etc.) if you are defending during a battle in campaign....

  • @TheWoodstock2009 some modded shit i guess

  • @bob4o99 No, its a landmine your riflemen can use when they set up fortifications before a battle starts. Trust me it is effective when being attacked head on.

  • @TheWoodstock2009 Is the mine !!!

  • @TheWoodstock2009

Fugasy is probably the first mine. But Empire total war is historically incorrect, since Confederate troops used the fuggase against Union troops. ( Civil War)

  • Great video. But Rockets no offense are useless. Quicklime is better

  • The most devastating weapon in the world is a soldier and his rifle.

  • @WW1AustrianRifleman if that "rifle" is a Fougasse

  • @WW1AustrianRifleman pretty sure you mean a marine and his rifle

  • Haha the guy at 4:11 was all like, "NOOOO, MA FRIENDS!!! :((("

  • @AaronOG7 xD NICE!

  • @AaronOG7 You think that's funny? You make me sick.

  • @iBaNezRG95 its a computer game dude

  • @Draious What's wrong with people today? That's so disgusting.

  • @iBaNezRG95 I would bet that he will change his mind if he saw that happen to real people.

  • @Draious Are you really this dumb? The game is historically accurate, so those weapons were actually used in those times, you sick sadist.

  • @iBaNezRG95 IT IS COMPUTER ANIMATED BLOCKS that fall to the ground! They don't die in real life you know! I know those weapons were used back in the day, but that doesn't mean you can't make a game with them!

  • @Draious So you jack off to history books, and get boner when you read how people were slaughtered. You're sick, get help.

  • @iBaNezRG95 Yeah I totally do that.. NOT. You jump to conclusions

  • @Draious Go fantasise somewhere else. This discussion doesn't interest me. I dont like talking to sadists.

  • @iBaNezRG95 Are you against all video games that have video animations "dieing" ? And funny how you call me a sadist yet you know Nothing about me at all

  • How are you able to play as Gran Columbia and Mexico in a battle

  • should i get this game, is it better than rtw and mtw2

  • @BIGmacwicheeze It's good but different then rtw and mtw2 if you like medieval and melee combat, you should get shogun 2 total war.

  • did u win?

  • jesus! thoughs Fougasse are killers! what units have them?

  • @PresidentDRCI I think rifle men or may be light infantry units have them( skirmishers). But only when defending, that is if you are defending a fort or your army is entrenched( the wooden stake around your army in campaign map)

  • How do I get Fougasse?

  • I've never use the number one, how can I found it in the game?

  • well of course some of these weapons are better with the one mod.

  • Puckle gun is useless and historically inaccurate.

  • Canister shot in the enemy's flank will shut them right up. ;)

  • DUDE ROCKETS ARE NOT DEADLY THEY SUCK they can only kill like 3-4 men in one round!!!

  • Is it sad that when I saw the red and black flag at 3:10 I got instantly annoyed because I thought those were rebels from the Europa and Victoria games?

  • @micah9639 hoooly crap thats riight :o

and their from the asian states those guys rebel a LOT in some of my brazil games :b

  • @wakato106 I can normally handle it for the first 50 years in victoria 2 but afterwards I just give up because it gets ridiculous. My nation keeps flipping between democracy, monarchy, facist, and communist every year in the final 30 years of the game.

  • the fougasse works well wen u aim it the same way the army is marching, that way wen they set it off they r RIGHT on top of it, happened to me...=(

  • Is there any way to make emergents playable in campain?

And is there a way to fix the bug that occurs when i play non-playable nations in campaign ( The cities arent highlighted, and technology is not usable)

  • @IAmDeathknight I usuaslly click on the list button to show all my agents, armies and fleets etc. Click on one and move it around the map to de-fog it.

  • EUROPE!!!

  • once i attacked a fort in "play batt;e" with all rockets and gave the defender all rockets. After literally 23 minutes, barely a hundred were killed!

  • how do u get #1?

  • what nation was that one at 3:49?

  • @moizeus "grand columbia" I did not know they existed until now

  • Pretty much all right, except for the rockets. They were only good cuz there were like seventy rocket groups

  • which army is using the grenades italy? how did u get tht color

  • All I can say is- Wow! I have not used some of those weapons. I will have to try them. Truly horrifying weapons to say the least. Great video and the song was very appropriate!

  • what about organ gun from ottomans?

  • The Fougasse is really effective if you can get your enemy in to narrow areas like between buildings. of course they bring down the building too. But if you lure the enemy inside a building with a militia unit and the place the bombs out side so another enemy unit sets it off you can kill a crap load of enemy for the cost of one militia unit. It has worked for me on occasion.

  • I empire total war better than napoleon total war in battles ?? Need quick answers I am going to buy one of them today!!!

  • @arnetude empire. but they sell it in a combo pack with napoleon. thats how i bought mine

  • where did the last one come from.............thats bad ass

  • Now this how you teach history class!

  • TURN THAT SONG OFF!!!!!

  • fougasse? how can you obtain it?

  • like napoleon total war

  • how do u get Fougasse
