I did this one too!!! Then at the top, I went into a small cave and somehow lost a mala the Dalai Lama had personally blessed for me. We were with some Inkan shamans and when we got to the very, very top there is a giant flat rock. I lay on the rock and the shaman did some blessing on me. What an experience
I was 12 years old when i went to machupicchu and my mom didn't let me climb the huayna picchu even though at the time I lived in Cuzco for about a year and I was very much in great shape.
OMG it looks exhilarating & frightening at the same time! Thank you for posting this. I will have to put "get fit" as a priority on my list of things to do!
My gf and I did Huayna Picchu last December 2007. And she is scared of heights!!!! It was a religious experience. I think this was and is a religious place. Well worth the trip. Don't forget the bug spray though.
