  • so there are water exercises?????? even for army?

  • you'd think physical strength is against you but your greatest enemy is your mind..mental power matters

  • This looks cool. Not saying it's easy, but looks like something I could do. I'm 16 but how does someone get into that? BCT first then OCS?

  • @Wolfheart2014 its harder and more complicated then that bud, first you need to score a 74 on the ASVAB (not that hard, i got an 82 without studying), then you need to get a 4 year degree, then get accepted over the thousands of others competeing for that spot.

  • @snare114 so I need to retake the asvab? I am taking the reserve route to ocs

  • @Africanbarbietm well what did you get on the ASVAB and what branch are you going into? Im currently a poolie in the marine corps and i do know that in the reserves they have a program called PLC or platoon leaders course which prepares your for OCS while pursing a 4 year degree, while the enlisted route has MECEP's (pays for your schooling) which requires you to reach E-4 before applying. Then there is the NROTC route which im currently pursuing.

  • @snare114 thanks snare. doesn't look easy and nice job on the 82. hope i can pull that off

  • @Wolfheart2014 dont worry you'll have no problems on the ASVAB as long as you stay calm, take your time on every question and i mean everyone one, and dont worry about the time limit. It might not seem like alot of time but trust me, its more then enough.

  • @snare114 How hard is the exam? does anyone and everyone who wants to join the army have to take this test?

  • @Wolfheart2014 The exam tests you on basic knowledge of math, reading, ability to rearrange shapes, very simple if your an intelligent person. For those who arent as smart it wont be as easy and some studying might do them good. And anyone and everyone who wants to join any branch of the military must take it. Im going to assume you havent talked to a recruiter yet (something that should take place soon) based on your lack of knowledge on the ASVAB.

  • @Wolfheart2014 get back to me or send me a message if you have any other concerns, or questions, im happy to help.

  • I'll be going up for OCS soon. It looks like it will be pretty fun.

  • So OCS is Coed?

  • @SonichuFan4Ever yes it is co-ed

  • @SonichuFan4Ever Thank God the Infantry isn't!

  • I hate that damn army recruiting song -_-

  • looks like a nice little video.

Who do I need to talk to in order to join up?

Would a regular army recruiter suffice?

  • hey, thanks for posting this video. Now at least I have something to look forward to prior to entering.

  • Excellent video footage. Great camera quality. I'm in the NG traditional OCS program (18 months) I graduate August 7. Cant wait for this crap to be OVER.

  • Looks like Basic all over again....with a few Infantry tasks.

  • All you have to do is attempt it. You don't have to pass it. It does hurt your class ranking but not considerably.

  • @armyskoon so ur saying one can go to ocs, not pass, and as long as they get through, they graduate?

  • @17GreenLantern No. What i am saying is that for the Combat Water Survival Test all you have to do is attempt it. If you don't get a "GO" on it then you don't get points and your class ranking is lower. The lower class ranking affects you when it comes time to pick a branch.

  • @armyskoon Oh, I see, I misunderstood. I asked cuz I'm an ROTC cadet myself and I was just looking at OCS comparing and contrasting the two.

  • @armyskoon one you go to ocs you already have joined a branch.

  • @DevinChief actually it used to be if you were enlisted you were assigned a branch when you went to OCS while the college ops competed for slots on an OML to pick their branch. Now it doesn't matter all OCS cadets compete for branch slots. You don't get your branch until about half way through OCS.

  • @armyskoon then why do they have different OCS schools for different branches. because you are either enlisted wanting to be an officer or you finished rotc but either way you already are in the branch that your going to OCS for.

  • @DevinChief First, let me state that I made this video while attending Army OCS. Therefore none of the other MILITARY branches matter in this context. The army has different branches and as an officer you belong to one of these branches. For instance, I belong to the Armor branch (tanks and cavalry), some of my friends belong to Infantry or Chemical or Aviation or AG or FA or Air Defense or...well you get the picture.

  • Those are the branches I am referring to when I talk about branch selection. Also, ROTC is a commissioning source (like West Point and OCS) therefore ROTC graduates do not go to OCS.

  • @armyskoon my bad i got confused! haha

  • I Cant Swim To Well.. Do You Think I Can Still Make It Threw The OCT Training?

  • @Paulsoriginals97 All you have to do is attempt it. You don't have to pass it. It does hurt your class ranking but not considerably.

  • This just got me all sorts of juiced up for February 14, 2010

  • @CDUB1987 DId you mean 2011? I leave on 12 January.

  • thank you for putting this together. great job.

  • Great job!
