This organ needs a 16' pedal bass, And it would sound exactly like a pipe organ! I wish I could restore one as you have! You have a God given talent not only to play, But to also restore organs! Keep up the good work!
Very nicely played and registered. Love your video about your organ's restoration. I have a small Wicks pipe organ pipe in my house that I partially rebuilt. Greetings from Milwaukee, WI. :)
Very nice sound and a good performance! I use an Altec-Lansing satellite PC speaker system on my computer with a big sub woofer and the bass from the organ really comes through quite nicely!
Another great performance! This organ does have a very impressive bass and overall tone. I know you cleaned the reeds when you worked on it. What did you use and did you have to do any tuning? Most reed organs I've heard have at least a spot or two that aren't quite in tune, some very sour. And usually a few reeds that are slow to speak. I haven't noticed that at all with this organ. It must have been a very "top of the line" instrument when it was built (and still is)! Thanks again!
Thanks! I used 5 parts water to one part ammonia, soaked them for a few minutes, then lightly brushed them and then rinsed with warm water and quick dried them on a hot plate, set to around 140 Fahrenheit. They were still tarnished but clean, and I tried to work with the reeds as minimal as possible. I was very lucky because most the tuning problems were mainly from dirt buildup. I had to tune a couple of them that were really out, it took me an entire evening just to do two reeds :)
Great video , thanks for it ! Yes, reed-organs and harmoniums have their place in churches ! Thjanks, thanks, thanks ! An harmonium and other reeds lover in Belgium, Bob :)
Fabulous! Please can you let me know the publisher of the 'manual' version? Thanks. Robert

Nicely voiced instrument, just shows that free reeds don't have sound like toy organs

Even a pipe organ would have a hard time matching the booming bass this instrument can produce! Amazing!

Such an amazing tone for a reed organ. Mine seems to be very sludgy in the more bassier notes. This sounds almost like a pipe organ.
