I discovered Status Quo long, long time ago through 'In The Army Now' song, but I haven't regret it. Their music is brilliant, but this song...there is no possibility to express to Him my wonder. Beautiful and stirring song. REVELATION !
Great Band!! been a fan of Quo since the early 70s, however, when you see/hear how Francis plays solo guitar you realise why they never made it big as a rock band (or even a pop band) in the States. Loadsa bands there who would simply blow them away. Shame really, 'cos they're nice guys, met them a coupla times...Long may they rock!!!
Not bad but imho, the music Quo produced in the 70s and early 80s is far better.
Quo are now a pop act, rather than a rock act - maybe they had to be more commercially appealing, but it's sad that they don't 'rock' as much nowadays.
yep gotta agree saw them in 82 nec birm roll over an caroline just blew the place off and HRH charlie was rockin out lol v funny but still a ace band live even now i have seen them at cannock chase they still play some of the olduns lol
I just dont get it concerning the whole three chord thing. These guys can seriously play . Certainly more than three chords. Anyone who says they only play three chords is talking out of there A*** and have never picked a guitar up in there life.I guess you guys who say this don't even know what a chord is.Even if it is only three chords have you seen the energy these guys play with. They are older but still could blow any younger band off the stage. The quo are a fabulous band.
@Jimmycrow1980 Yep! They're dicks that say 3 chords and then have the front to say they know music. Also when people say they can't tell one song from another, which is concerning if they cannot tell Caroline from Army for one example!
@Jimmycrow1980 Yeah, the people who say that Quo is a 3 chord band with all their songs sounding the same... what can I say? A bunch of assholes (excuse my language). Some people called them a 3 chord band probably because of their fast and energetic boogie songs in the 70's, and they still do hard rock boogie songs, but from 1980's onwards the Quo also added slower numbers here and there.
A mate of mine went to the NEC and before the show they filmed something and said it would be the Video to "Rock til you drop!" Didn't look like the NEC to me, you'd never get away with sparklers!!!!

WHY THINK ABOUT QUO?
Always think! is the first answer. Two is...
that most probably...one of the reasons for their gigantic worldround success on PINK FLOYD en LEDZEP level ,while they do not offer that quality at all,is the British hardcut ,do-or-die, always fresh sounding ,easy coocking 3 chords rock.
A bit like Roxette from Sweden...as long as their luck lasted.Hardcut is SEXY!
Clearley sir, you ought to delve further into quos history and pick out the so 3 chord jibes from there first 3 or 4 albums, bet you cant. Also try such classics as living on an island and rock and roll. Try it, then post a meaningful comment, if you are able of such comments that is.
I do hope your comment wasn't aimed at me I've been a fan for 25 years I collect all I can of them plus I was fortunate enough to meet them last month at Cardiff I know they are capable of many things and do more then 3 chords.
I only posted what I did cos someone posted about the same old 3 chord jibe.
