I loved the exiting action scene in the game where the old lady fights giant robots and drives lightcycles and defeats darth vader and gets transported to another diminsion to save the magical and stuff crystal poeple its quite a fantastic game!

Tale of Tales creates games that, not only captivate the player, but also wishes to let the player get sucked into the game entirely. Example: when you have the full version of 'The Graveyard', there is a chance that the woman dies during the song. Not much of interest you say? trust me, you'll be quite shocked to when it happens. The song multiplies the feeling a bit, because it talks about death too.

Anyway, it's a short game, but neat, nonetheless. I suggest you get it, and await The Path

I bought this game because the description made me laugh. The game was a joke purchase more than anything else and I have a video up on my profile on The Graveyard, if you look.

It's absolutely atrocious and the only reason to buy it is to laugh about how far up their own asscracks the developers' heads are stuffed. There is art in videogames, but this game isn't it.

The point isn't to showcase artwork. The game is to give an emotional feeling and let you experience something other than mindless killing with guns or whatever.

It's not the developer's fault that you're too stupid to understand the actual concept.

But there are plenty of other games that offer the exact same thing. Remember Legacy of Kain, Shadow of the Colossus, the scene where Arieth died in FF7? Heck, at least in this game you could of experience the death of her sons and such, like be able to walk around at their funerals and feel the emotions there.

The reason I dislike this game is that it is quite literally just a walk down a pathway, a song about various ways people died most likely in this woman's life, followed by her leaving. The visuals don't look well thought out at all - at a stretch you could argue the dark patches of shadow are like dark patches in life, but that's pushing it to extremes of faggotry

In short: This game, for the majority of people, fails to deliver any emotional impact whatsoever and just comes off as tacky with some cookie cutter black and white graphics thrown in.

I won't go into detail, but games like SotC, Ico etc that the other guy mentioned? Those are better than this. It's fine to argue the impact of those was "short lived", but the graveyard had a pathetic impact on me. They're pretending it's poetry when they haven't even made anything, just a small 3D scene.

The reason this game is art in my eyes, is because I understand the song in dutch. I do have to say, the subs are a bit off, and it doesn't come to it's full meaning, but it's better when you udnerstand the dutch words.

Look.If you don't like it, don't play it. That's with every game. Not many people can understand what Tale of Tales' meaning is behind The Graveyard, The Endless Fores and The Path. I think it was beautiful. I played the game and paid $5 to see what you can't in the trial. I think they did a good job at getting an emotional response from their "audience". That was one of their intentions, to get an emotional response.

I am always open to new kinds of art. But I believe that this could have been a bit more. I know it's just a trial version, but a trial is sopost to get you hooked. The graveyard it self was beautiful, but the old women seemed not very well done. Also they could have made her more human like. Like when there is a close up on her face...mabey she shoulden't move in a pattern. It's an intresting idea, that leaves you with wonder like myst does. But please PLEASE add much more in the full game.

yeah, i mean the graphics looked like they put in effort but the closeup was a little underdone, might as well have fixed that if the whole game was gonna be that short. overall it seems too much of a bother for something like this. it would have been considered art (at least in my opinion) if every time she died but that's just a chance. im being more harsh and giving this game 1/10

That's exactlly what I'm talking about! The concept isn't that bad it's just the follow through was terriable. I think that maybe It could be good if at least they added some game ellements to it. This could be a great point and click. i'm not close minded, but yet again everything just pointed to this being a bad game. Posably people like it for the simplsity, Maybe people want something that is a bit odd. I love expression, but If you say something is a game...IT SHOULD BE A GAME!

This really should have been a visual novel, and it's not like anyone will regret not getting to move the old woman around, she walks too slow for a game character and exploring won't change the outcome of the game. People that like this game obviously prefer those types of games, this was released in a genre that wasn't meant for it and that's the cause of it's bad reviews.
