  • Everyone gravitates to news with a bias they already agree with, and then believes their channel to be the most fair and objective because they already agree with the "facts" presented. We can't recognize external biases until we recognize our own. Whether you watch Fox or CBS, vote democrat or republican- read the original texts that define the philosophies you consciously or otherwise subscribe to, and make up your own mind. Discernment leads to knowledge versus regurgitation

  • The fact the Blowbermann thinks that he is objective is laughable. This blowhard has an agenda and sought to use his position to promote it at every turn. This eventually lead to his demise as America grew tired of his left wing rants and self promoting tirades.

  • @wbtaylor1 Can you prove one thing he has ever said that wasn't true? Didn't think so.

  • Comments here are making the same mistake KO's attacker videos are. They aren't listening all the way to the end. The point of Keith's comment had nothing to do with the false equivalence (this time). He doesn't attack FNC, he attacks... EVERY NETWORK'S NEWS. EVERY news channel swallowed the bullshit of Iraq whole. ABC included, which used to do good work. And the scariest part is he's right. KO was vilified by the GOP for stating what is now known as truth. And he was alone. at least on TV.

  • What mistakes has anyone at fox made that they have not owned up to? Just curious.

  • @uhavenoshushi : You're kidding, right?

  • At RockingJamboree so a Journalist should give up the same rights we ordinary citizens have to donate to anyone we chose? Or better yet that "Corporations now can do without any disclosure of who they give to thanks to The Bought and Paid for Supreme Court? I am calling BULLSHIT on you Rocking Jamboree

  • @1234uz Maybe. A journalist doesn't give up those rights. But IF a journalist PAYS thousands of dollars to a politician (on the same day they conduct an interview with them), we should KNOW about it. That should be disclosed. Because that transaction will influence Olbermann's questions, and influence how the interviews respond. Plus, it just looks bad.

What Olbermann did wasn't illegal. It's a question of propriety and appearances. What he did doesn't make him look like a better journalist.

  • Here's the problem with Keith Olbermann donating money to Candidates running for office, it not only taints Olbermann, it taints the objectivity of the candidates! With no disclaimer, Olbermann made campaign donations on the same day that candidates were interviewed by him. Should we wonder how much every interview was PAID, each time they are on the air?

This is a good statement, but it lacks humility or apology. Olbermann doesn't seem to think he did anything worthy of scrutiny or criticism.

  • @RockingJamboree So how do you feel about a sitting Supreme Court Justice (Alito) being the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for a conservative publication last week? That must really frost your flakes.

  • @TheSometimesWhy What is legal isn't always what is proper or polite. I respect that Justice Alito has a right to his opinions. But I think there's also a reasonable expectation that Justices stay out of day to day politics.

Do I think it's proper for Sean Hannity to speak at campaign fund raisers for Michele Bachmann? No. I think it's crude, unseemly. It makes me lose respect for him as a journalist and her as a politician. But they have the right to do it and lose my respect as well.

  • @RockingJamboree I agree, adding that there is something to be addressed here, a category you've not mentioned--unethical. Less defined than illegal, but just as damaging when invoked. Alito's addressing this group last week was not only unethical, it threw his sitting on the bench as an objective trier of law (what a judge does) into great question. Sean Hannity is no more a journalist than Michelle Bachmann is a politician. They are both two-bit clowns in a second-rate circus.

  • Who writes for Olberman?

Revisionist historians serving up lamb chops for the sheep?

  • Right on.

  • God bless Keith Olbermann. He is the last honest man on television.

  • Rather listen to Keith than tha crying lying pussy beck and that fat ranting slimy limbaugh or those sleazy sluts on fox repeating stupid gossipy lies.

  • Your News Media is in a sorry fucked up state. And for what? Political bias and the most disgusting faux reason of all, patriotism.

Keep hoisting the flag and indoctrinating your cannon fodder.

  • This is EXACTLY the sort of comments Keith needs to make and make them more often. Fox and MSNBC are NOT the same. They never were. If Olbermann makes mistakes - and he has - he's owned up to them. When has that ever happened with O'Reilly or any of the other blowhards at Fox News? This guy should be beamed into every house in America. Maybe then they'll be able to fix their problems without some self-righteous asscrack lying about those actions being "socialism".

    Keep on slaying 'em, Keith.

  • @TheMann2000 Great post. I agree.

  • I couldn't agree more with Mr. Olbermann. The day these journalists own up to their failure as journalist is the day we will start making progress, Fox and Rush Limbaugh are doing a great job dividing our country it's funny how the people that listen to these networks call themselves Christians and they allow themselves to be misguided by hatred. It is sad, this attitude will lead to our collapse, a well deserved collapse! Mark my words it will happen, a divided country will never succeed.

  • It's gutless idiots like Ted Koppel who advocate just repeating assertions, whether they be truth or lies, who killed journalism. Olbermann tells the facts and calls out the liars and dipshits. Ted Koppel can go fuck himself.

  • I agree. And you can so see O'Reilly speaking to his viewers as adults like this. Reflecting on what's right and wrong rather than slagging people off and yelling. We need more like Keith, even if the Conservatives could come up with someone articulate and honest like this the world would be a better place.

  • Bullshit. To campare Olbermann with O'Reilly is sacrilege. One feels Koppel mentions Olbermann in an attempt to appear neutral. It's bullshit. Both Olbermann and Maddow support their opinion with impeccable research.
