I love the funky sound of that guitar...it's perfect for your style...very satisfying. I watched a number of training video's on YouTube...you're the first that I sensed a musician with some real feel. I would pay to experience your talent...love it!
again,,excellent tuition...a guitar players teacher..!!! many thanks..i hope you make a guitar tuition dvd one day...I'll be your first customer..!! superb..many thanks
Wow thanks man, i think this is really gonna help me. I love the blues sound its all i want to play.
And it is great, by the way, to see someone else not using a pick, i don't get on well with them at all they always move around in my grip and fall out of my hand, but loads of peaople have told me i should learn how to use them.
@ThreeChordGuitar lol ive been playing guitar for five years almost six and i wish i would have practiced more finger picking. nice instructional videos man
hey mojo with the jonny cash finger great vids ive learnt so much from u maybe u could teach us "the thrill is gone" by bb king the CHORDS N THE SOLO PAST
I love your videos and your Arizona accent. I am having lots of fun trying to flatpick the fingerpicking stuff. Wanted Dead or Alive was a blast, but I really love the blues stuff. What type of camera are you using? Do you use an on camera mic?
Just to put this one to rest, I am a French citizen, i.e. born and raised in France. I am not from a former French colony over in the US or elsewhere :)
And yes, I have played the MK strat, and it's a fine guitar. I already have an SRV strat - with the same pickups - so I didn't want to buy that one as well, but other wise I would have considered it :)
mojo's right, just as anything else, its is harder at first and if you stick with it, it gets easier. i havent(probably never will) mastered finger picking but im much better than i was and i just started when i saw mojo about 3 or 4 months ago, if that long.
I know what you mean, but if you keep after it you can get better. I started a year ago, and I'm an old-timer and none too adept especially with the finger stuff, but practice, slow practice where you concentrate on getting it right and in time though slow, is the way to go. At first it was just awful, pick a note, look at the guitar, move a finger, pick a note, look at the guitar move a finger.... but after a few days it was not so bad, and now, some months later I am starting to feel it. heh
thanks 3-Chord - I always enjoy your short vids. but could you show the 'hidden extras' a bit more - I mean the bits you add at the end of the riff, the throw away notes. To you they may seem dead easy, but not to me, so I spend ages figuring them out. The purists will say 'go figure out yourself', but they don't need to watch this type of lesson.
And how about a video of your mates jamming, that would be really fun?
Hey man! great guitar lessons! i really appreciate.
Do you have some tabs that can go along with the videos?
Thanks!

Because people posted stuff that is not acceptable to all audiences, and that I get a fair amount of young 'uns watching these videos...

I like your method of teaching actuall licks, instead of just scales and such.
GULRUDJ 3 years ago
you have to learn scales soyou can understand and build on riffs. you can't just play other peoples riffs

i have watched a lot of your videos...you never use a pick..most beginners do
allwhite75 3 years ago
That's correct, I don't use a pick. Are you implying that I am a beginner, or that because beginners do I should use one as well?

Arizona accent? That's a first for me :) Glad you like it, though!
I use an old Mini DV Sony camera, and the mic that came with it... that's it.

Mojo, Thanks for all the great lessons. Arizona? I'm guessing Quebecois... :-)
kartwood 3 years ago
8 million French speaking Canadians in this world... 62 million French people. How did Quebecois come to your mind first? :D
ThreeChordGuitar 3 years ago
it was a wild guess. I get a little exposure to Quebecois and some Acadien french here in Nouvelle Ecosse. La Lousiane Francaise?
Back to guitars. Have you had a chance to play the Mark Knopfler Signature Strat? Any comments?

Have not been able to master finger picking...have to use a pic ..now what ?
robsatease 3 years ago
Well, you either adapt the stuff to playing it with a pick, or you take it slow and learn to finger pick, which is a ton easier than it sounds :)
ThreeChordGuitar 3 years ago
