  • Hey man! great guitar lessons! i really appreciate.

Do you have some tabs that can go along with the videos?

    Thanks!

  • I just found your site,, great lessons, I'm enjoying looking at your video's...

  • lo, i use the first riff every time i enter a jam. its like your sliding into the music

  • thanks i liked these

  • I love the funky sound of that guitar...it's perfect for your style...very satisfying. I watched a number of training video's on YouTube...you're the first that I sensed a musician with some real feel. I would pay to experience your talent...love it!

  • Very nice video dems. Suggestion: Trim back on "the Johnny Cash finger" reference. ;)

    Keep up the good work.

  • hey mojo great stuff man ya ever done a rory gallagher lesson on here?.would love to see something from you by him.thanks from ireland.

  • i see that ovation in the back!

  • I love the Tom Anderson Cobra!!!

Do you keep it locked up at night so It wont escape and bite someone?

I am a big TA fan. Like the Video too.

  • Thanks I see ya doing your thing.

  • Mojo,

I share your passion for guitars...wish I had even a measure of your skill and talent. Love your stuff.

  • no it doesnt

  • 1:04 to 1:06

Sounds like 'Numb' by Linkin Park!

  • Why do you not allow video responses??

  • Because people posted stuff that is not acceptable to all audiences, and that I get a fair amount of young 'uns watching these videos...

  • Nice vid!

  • could u do some Gary moore inspierd rockblues lick/riff lesson? PLEASE :D

  • you're a badass. thank you. :]

  • Just awsome man.

Thanks so much for the work you put in.

I love the blues riffs you've shown us.

  • I like your method of teaching actuall licks, instead of just scales and such.

  • you have to learn scales soyou can understand and build on riffs. you can't just play other peoples riffs

  • gonna try it when I get home.. thanks for the videos...

  • Big thanks!

  • Lessons for 3 years now then i discover u absolutely brilliant!

  • Great videos... just subbed! :)

  • Very good, man, very good.

My english is bad and im a beginner, but i saw maybe all your lessons here and they are very easy to understand and learn. Thanks.

Registered in YouTube 1 minute ago just to thank you.

    Good luck!

  • again,,excellent tuition...a guitar players teacher..!!! many thanks..i hope you make a guitar tuition dvd one day...I'll be your first customer..!! superb..many thanks

  • Wow thanks man, i think this is really gonna help me. I love the blues sound its all i want to play.

And it is great, by the way, to see someone else not using a pick, i don't get on well with them at all they always move around in my grip and fall out of my hand, but loads of peaople have told me i should learn how to use them.

  • DUDE YOUR AWESOMEEE! i love your lessons , they are so simple to learn because you actually EXPLAIN the lesson. thanks so much.

  • relax i am not implying that you are a beginner...at all..your videos are great..but i am a beginner and CAN NOT finger pick

  • i have watched a lot of your videos...you never use a pick..most beginners do

  • That's correct, I don't use a pick. Are you implying that I am a beginner, or that because beginners do I should use one as well?

  • he meant some people cant finger pick

i cant but im gonna try

    thanx

    5*

  • I havent used a pick since watching your videos. Just feels like theres more control over the sound when using my fingers. Cheers

  • I am glad you found a way that works well for you :)

  • @ThreeChordGuitar lol ive been playing guitar for five years almost six and i wish i would have practiced more finger picking. nice instructional videos man

  • hey mojo with the jonny cash finger great vids ive learnt so much from u maybe u could teach us "the thrill is gone" by bb king the CHORDS N THE SOLO PAST

  • Very nice lessons

  • just found you - you're some banana!

  • Thanks for the quick reply. I am going to be lespauljr on your forum. There's lots of good guitar nutrition for growing guitarist there.

  • I love your videos and your Arizona accent. I am having lots of fun trying to flatpick the fingerpicking stuff. Wanted Dead or Alive was a blast, but I really love the blues stuff. What type of camera are you using? Do you use an on camera mic?

  • Arizona accent? That's a first for me :) Glad you like it, though!

I use an old Mini DV Sony camera, and the mic that came with it... that's it.

  • Mojo, Thanks for all the great lessons. Arizona? I'm guessing Quebecois... :-)

  • 8 million French speaking Canadians in this world... 62 million French people. How did Quebecois come to your mind first? :D

  • it was a wild guess. I get a little exposure to Quebecois and some Acadien french here in Nouvelle Ecosse. La Lousiane Francaise?

Back to guitars. Have you had a chance to play the Mark Knopfler Signature Strat? Any comments?

  • Just to put this one to rest, I am a French citizen, i.e. born and raised in France. I am not from a former French colony over in the US or elsewhere :)

And yes, I have played the MK strat, and it's a fine guitar. I already have an SRV strat - with the same pickups - so I didn't want to buy that one as well, but other wise I would have considered it :)

  • Thanks, I think i have a lot of fun with this functional information.

  • You sir are a hero! In that sence that I was pretty sure nobody could evver teach me any instrument! But You sir seems to sucseed!

  • Have not been able to master finger picking...have to use a pic ..now what ?

  • Well, you either adapt the stuff to playing it with a pick, or you take it slow and learn to finger pick, which is a ton easier than it sounds :)

  • mojo's right, just as anything else, its is harder at first and if you stick with it, it gets easier. i havent(probably never will) mastered finger picking but im much better than i was and i just started when i saw mojo about 3 or 4 months ago, if that long.

  • I know what you mean, but if you keep after it you can get better. I started a year ago, and I'm an old-timer and none too adept especially with the finger stuff, but practice, slow practice where you concentrate on getting it right and in time though slow, is the way to go. At first it was just awful, pick a note, look at the guitar, move a finger, pick a note, look at the guitar move a finger.... but after a few days it was not so bad, and now, some months later I am starting to feel it. heh

  • thanks 3-Chord - I always enjoy your short vids. but could you show the 'hidden extras' a bit more - I mean the bits you add at the end of the riff, the throw away notes. To you they may seem dead easy, but not to me, so I spend ages figuring them out. The purists will say 'go figure out yourself', but they don't need to watch this type of lesson.

And how about a video of your mates jamming, that would be really fun?

  • Thanks, I will try and remember to do that as well :)

  • More, I want more.

    Very good. Will be helpful.

  • oh please please do message in a bottle!!

  • you're bald?

  • Your powers of perception are impressive! :D

Yes, I am bald. Have been for over 20 years, now.

  • i just didn't know cuz you always wear a hat...

  • I hear you, I was teasing :)

  • Cheespuff5292. Are there no bald people in the land of the retards where you are from?

  • Easy friend, I don't think he meant anything rude or mean :)

  • i know you were teasing. :)

    and i'm a girl.

  • Ooops, sorry about the gender faux-pas :)

  • that's okay.

  • Merci,

    This will be fun.

  • good stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    thanks

  • woo hoo 1st comment!! hey Mojo great job mate! you rock!
