You misunderstand as many do the degrees of Freemasonry. There are only 3 degrees in Freemasonry. The rest are from apendent bodies. No degree in any of those bodies is higher than that of a Master Mason.

There are no upper levels at all. The degrees from the appendent bodies are degrees which expand on some specific moral point.

I repeat there are exactly 3 degrees in Freemasonry.

Even a school has rituals. What else is graduation, where people dress up in robes and act out a part? Oaths, people take oaths all the time, in fact, in schools, are not children taking an oath to a flag?
