Amish do use modern medicine in some towns... when they get fractures, cancer etc... I'm not sure how often or statistics, but would be interesting to hear the statistics
I appreciate their simple life and think we can learn a lot from Amish. i just wish they wouldn't abuse their horses who are often sent to Slaughter when they have worked them often to death or injuries they don't' want to fix. sad. I think Solor is perfect for Amish... relies on environment
I wish I was Amish, you get to have HUGE feasts at the end of every day during the harvest and you can go anywhere you want at all without your parents having to know where you are. That would be pretty cool.
won't this new found power enable the young Amish to be tempted by 'outsider' devilish delights? good luck to them, it's clean power and suits their clean living.I kind of admire them in a way...
I think they have a great life. maybe a hard working concept, but still more healthy. i wonder sense they do not eat much of the garbage we eat, processed food. what is the cancer rate in the Amish? just a thought.
These aren't REAL AMISH! They dont use electricity! FAKERS! One TINY solar panel thats barely enough to charge a single car battery isn't "going solar" like most people would think. This is propaganda.
I disagree. I am no FAKER. While my panel is not TINY (64"x24"), I have a single(Deep cycle) battery that runs things in 4 rooms of my house 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for the last 11 months since comming on-line!!! No propoganda here.
Jesus Christ!!! The F'n Amish, People who Choose to Live in the 18th Century, are Going Solar BEFORE the so called main-stream...Get it together People...Build a grid and share with your neighbors....
oh shit, the amish know what a clock radio is?

an actual question: what is the point of being amish if they're going to allow electricity?
and are they allowed to use modern medicine?

The funny thing is I know Roman Hershberger and he is a real Amish man. And yes they do use Solar power for many things in this world.
