I'm only in high school but some of my closest friends are openly gay. They are some of the nicest and most trustworthy people I know and they shouldnt be discriminated against just because one decision in their life. Thats like discrimation against one group because they like either peanut butter or jelly better. Its just not right!

if i could have voted in the election, its not a question that i would have voted no on prop 8. I think that all people should have the right to marry. Its not our governments right to let religion interfere with our rights and say that marriage is between one woman and one man.

Fighting for basic human rights is not a lost cause. When Prop. 22 was approved, 61% voted yes and 39% voted no. For Prop. 8, only 52.5% voted yes and 47.5% voted no. Californians are becoming more accepting and tolerant. Next time this happens I think Californians will vote against discrimination.
