Why so many negative comments! A few guys knocked up a desirable electric car: well done! It looks like an entertaining project, it demonstrated that the car industry is being pitifully slow at providing environmentally friendly solutions (especially given Fords early effort). Quite understandable with all their machinery, knowledge, suppliers and existing market being focussed on combustion engines. This story helps viewers understand that electric cars should be available now, for everyone!!!
hi Dale, interesting project. but is it true you spent 400,000 quid of taxpayer money on this? if so, why? you're not a car company, so what's the point of a proof of concept if there's no intention to go into production?
The concept of a wind powered car only seems plausible if they used a wind turbine in the car and that is possible. There is a company called Flodesign; an aerospace company, that has created a turbine that is much smaller than present designs and is much more efficient. If you took this design and shrunk it down to fit in a car, I'm sure it could generate enough power. But this all theory. A small wind turbine in a car could be the future.
I dont understand. Why are you redoing what has already been done with the Tesla? I love that you are working on this I just wonder what will set your car apart from the Tesla?
You talk about "pushing the boundaries" and challenging stereotypes....hasn't this all already been done by the Tesla Roadster which gives the same performance that you seek and a 220 mile range.
Ford Motor Company had a line of Electric Automobiles completed in 2003. It was done so to accomodate California Environmental Laws. The cars were powerful and very attractive.
However, California laww changed and the demand for their electric cars went to zero. So Ford sold the line to a car company out of Norway.
when i get a job ,i show you and world advance wind power car 100% no fuel needed 90 mph unlimited range 5 people under $20,000 .

There is no wind generation during the cars operation. So technically it's just another dumb electric car. Annoying and stupid at the same time.

Put wind turbine wheels two front two back onto the car, the air stream while driving will re-charge the battery pack.
