  • You poor bastard. I go through the same crap. I recently had a powerful attack of panic standing in line at court. It was intense. And it sucks because people generally don't understand how extremely frightening and traumatic a panic attack is. Its utterly horrifying. I feel dizzy when I'm in large open areas like an auditorium.

  • We are twins of different mothers!! I have the exact problem. I feel if i didnt have my dizziness my anxiety wouldnt be near as bad. I have been dealing with one of my worst spells the last few weeks and i can relate. So how are things now for you!??

  • ALSO everyone try going to get a massage, it may help. also go to a chiroprator that also can help... mine feels like its from my neck/back/ and it feels like pressure in my face kinda...

  • Thank you... I was so afraid my doctors were wrong... they say its stress and anxiety that are causing this. it goes away now sometimes... its been here about 2 months off and on... im 29. had anxiety since i was 15... tryed so much and i got my anxiety to go away and this year it came back SO strong... more syptoms...new symptoms... im glad im not as alone as I thought...

  • well i am watching this video to get some healthy tips etc, but all I see is your struggle. I m sorry to hear that but you haven't really overcome the problem as you say on your title.

How are you feeling these days anyways?

  • @rahuls1s Well that is the purpose of my videos - to document my struggle and the things I'm doing to overcome my disorder. That's why I title my videos "Overcoming Anxiety". The title doesn't necessarily mean I have overcome it, hence "overcoming", and not "overcome", nor "how I overcame anxiety". I'm about 70% recovered to date. The healthy tips are found throughout the videos.

  • @bwelmhouse1 I know that is your strugle but the title says you have found cure. Other thing I would like to bring to your atttention is your beliefs about your body plays a major role in finding a cure because you haven't been diagnosed with any inner ear problem. By now You Already Know What I am really trying to convey to you. It seemed like you have lost confidence, i.e. I am trying to say.

  • @bwelmhouse1 hi mate i have the same problem but mine are not spells its constant dizzy/lightheaded sensation when i get up to walk i feel as though i am walking on sponge it is a terrifying condition i have had on and off for 6 years. i have had panic attacks for 15 years and have tried lots of medication. as i write this i have been in bed for 4 days only leaving to go the toilet and nibble food as i have no appetite. i sympathise with you mate i would not wish it on anyone

  • i have the same problem that you have and i still have problems with it hey if you have facebook add me under rodolfo mireles jr in lasara,tx

  • what effect did you use to make yourself appear in front of the camera, that was so freaking awesome, like something out of harry potter

  • @KetchupAndMustard55 Hello! Actually it wasn't a preset effect, but rather some clip chopping and fading on my part. Basically filmed the empty scene, then me in the scene, then overlapped the two scenes to create a crossfade effect which results in me fading into the scene. It's hard to explain with words. Did that make any sense?

  • Thank you so much for sharing this with us.I can relate 100%. I look fw to watching more of ur video!

  • i have exactly the same problem, for 25 years now

  • Thanks for sharing.

I too feel dizzy when I am outdoors because of my OCD/Anxiety and a couple of times I became so dizzy that I had to sit on the floor for a couple of mins. Now ,I am so scared that I don't go out unless it is extremely necessary.

I have been taking xanax and Zoloft for the last 2 years but I don't see much improvement.

  • Continued.....I just want to thank you for posting this video and allowing people to know they are not alone in this condition, i found that hiking outdoors kinda halted the anxiety and dizzy sensations i felt while i was working as a social worker.

  • Hey brother, i am in the exact same position you have been all your life. I am 23 and i have been fighting with anxiety related issues since i was 15. At the moment, as the same with you its the off balance and anxiety sensations i am fighting with which are making me feel uncomfortable, over the last 3 years they have come and gone over long periods, ie i would have these off balance/dizzy sensations for like 3 months and then they would dissapear for like 9 months. Recently they have come back

  • but i also have low blood pressure

  • this may sound weird but for me if i feel dizzy i have to pick up something heavy and i feel ok.. maybe you need to work on a building site or something

  • It may sound strange, but worrying can cause dizziness that can eventually become very severe. That's what happened to me. It causes you to worry more and this makes the dizziness even worse. This condition is called Generalized Anxiety Disorder and is curable. Panic Disorders are closely related! Doctors haven't a clue about these conditions, but psychiatrist understand it and can be very helpful. There are many web sites that give all the main causes of dizziness.

  • @27182818R I think you are right..

  • @ApachurroLady I am sorry to hear you've had dizziness; I know it's horrible! If you have eliminated physical causes, e.g. ear infection, blood count, eye alignment, thyroid, then you may have anxiety. If it is anxiety, my psychiatrist said vertigo drug's like stemetil wont alleviate anxiety dizziness. It might be a good idea to rule out the physical causes first. Then if necessary find a good psychiatrist that you trust and feel comfortable with to check for anxiety. They can also treat it.

  • Ive been sufferingfrom dizzy spells too..and it is really causing a major problem on how I am living my life...sometimes i take anti vertigo drugs but I think it doent help..i wanted it to go away..its been for 2 years now..

  • @ApachurroLady That's horrible! Have the doctors diagnosed it or have any theories as to what might be causing it?

  • i can go anywhere and have a great time but there are those few times i get panic attacks and end up on the ground taking short breaths. i don't know what the cause may be, and i went to a doctor hoping for results but nothing has been told to me. im 14 years old and im really worried cuz its really hard to control the unnecessary panic.

  • One possibility with Dizziness is anxiety. I know this because I developed Generalized Anxiety Disorder. At first I didn't believe my psychiatrist that my dizziness was caused by anxiety because I didn't feel very anxious, just very dizzy. As I got much worse i soon realized that anxiety Was the cause! I have been greatly helped my a medication called pregabalin. It calms the nervous system down, so that it is not overloaded and can function properly, and then the dizziness disappears.

  • hello how are you? are you still taking the medication? i have this problem since i was a kid, i'm dizzy everyday, i've done all the tests including, ENG, HEARING TEST, CT SCAN OF THE BRAIN, AND AN MRI,nothing was found, i was wondering if you've done all of these tests before seeing a psychiatrist.

  • dude, i got my first panic attack when i wus 7. i couldn't breathe.. & i didnt know what was going on.. & i went threw depression to.. & then i got scared of huge crowds.. && i used to feel like there wus pressure on my head..&& now i hate going in stores..

  • Hi there... I've had this since I was 7 years old too... I've just found a video on youtube about VERTICAL HETEROPHORIA which is my symptoms exactly, especially being uncomfortable in BIG SPACES, OUTDOORS ETC!!! especially as ALL of my tests (MRI scans, inner ear tests etc) came out as a normal result at the hospital recently. Found a video on here, type this into the search bar.... 'Channel 7 News - Dr. Debby Feinberg - Headaches and Dizziness Caused By Eye Misalignment - VHS'. Good luck!!! x

  • i used to feel dizzy on and off all the time for about 5 days and that was about a year ago. but now its back and i cant cope with it i keep panicing and my hearts starts racing. i cant deal with it, i think it might hae something to do with my eyes because it gets worse when i put my glasses on :(

  • @eternallegend2007 ... SEE MY RESPONSE ABOVE, honestly please check out 'Vertical Heterophoria'... I have just read that if your glasses are the wrong prescription, it will make you dizzy!!! Please have a look. I'm following this up too, I've had dizziness for 30 years since I was 7 xx

  • @roxblue5 iv been to 2 opticians and they say my prescription has only changed by a small amount and i shouldnt bother wasting my money on more glasses. iv had it for 2 weeks non stop dizzyness 24 hours a day. i wake up and have to keep my eyes shut so i dont have to watch the room spin and even tho iv shut them i still feel it. i dont know what to do anymore :( my doc said its labrynthitus but the meds arnt working and im feeling worse day by day and i keep having panic attacks

  • @roxblue5 its taking all my energy to type this aswell. im waiting results from a blood test and ecg. my head feels extremely heavy right now and my eyes feel strained even tho the opticians say there not. i just want it to go and leave me alone :( iv even made a dentist appointment incase its a nerve problem or something but they no appointments available until september. its seriously starting to depress me i get alot of dark thoughts.

  • @eternallegend2007 You poor thing. I totally feel for you, I really hope you can muster up all of your strength in order to get through this. I know how frightening and terrifying it is when you are spinning and it won't stop, and how alone you feel. Have you had all tests done? MRI brain scan to the cerebellum? (the part of the brain that deals with balance), vestibular tests? ( spun around in chairs, water jets in the ears etc?) What were the results? Have they tried Epley manouvre on you? xx

  • I've been dealng with dizziness for about a year now. Before that I was hospitalized for 9Months recovering from a transplant. I took a trip to Mexico and felt great there with almost zero dizziness. I even thought of staying longer. Im nt sure if it had to do with the air trip altitude that triggered something on my nerve system but for almost a month I was really good. 2 days after i came back so did the dizziness. Although i feel releave when I remove my glasses too. Ativan works for anxiaty.

  • I still dont know how to deal with this. I almost didnt been in school last yer, went to every doctor but......no one dont know what is it.... :/

  • classic panic attack symptoms.....diziness, dry mouth, feeling of un-reality, visual problems like tunnel vision and loss of colors, tingling numb hands, hyperventilation, .......mine started at age 13. Teenage years are usually when they really start to kick in

  • this video is a good solution to overcome dizziness

  • I have the same problems you have. At first i was scared to say something about but ike now this is gone over board im stuck in the house because of being dizzy. When i get around a bunch of people it really turns on.

  • Hey guys, hope it helps- dramin has helped me a lot while I have the dizzy spells(yes, the sea-sickness pills). If it gets you drowsy, take half.

Also, acupuncture with the right guy helped me a lot. I never knew what I had,it took some 10 sessions and then he said:"chest upfront, courage!" what a great man!

Havent seen him for a few years, because I moved countries, but now it's slowly moving to heart palpitations and short breathness...I'm dealing with it,but honestly-hate it lol

  • I relate to what you say...

  • i've had this for a years now. I'm 23 and it's basically given me really bad agoraphobia... Like i'm too paranoid to go outside in case I get these waves of dizziness and go completely unsteady. I can't really do anything because of it, the only time I really feel comfortable when walking is next to a wall as I have something to lean against if things go wrong. But then I can't really walk far on my own anyways.

I dunno, i've been feeling suicidal over this lately, dont enjoy life like this

  • @0gami1tto i know how u feel :( its the worst feeling ever

  • i had dizziness during my first pannic attack .. it was really bad .. and i felt my heart race at the same time .

  • i get unsteady ness and its scary wtf do i do bro im only 16 fuckin hate this shit

  • Read below first.. Ive had about every test you can think of done and they find nothing.. Even had sinus surgery in January hoping i was that..The panic attacks have slowed down cause ive learned to deal with them but havent learned the beat the dizziness yet.. I cant even go to Walmart with my wife or even a gas station now cause im scared im going to have one of the bad spells and hit the floor. Just wish YouTube was around when all this started cause it does give hope.. Thanks for sharing

  • Never did get a dry feeling in the mouth. Did they also give you an MRI and test your heart? Mine is quite mysterious and seems to be worse on days I sleep too much. So, it sounds like yours has progressed and gotten worse over the years. I'm assuming they've ruled out Meniere's Disease.

  • Ive had MRI, MRA, and several heart test done. The only test that was positive was the tilt i had at Cardiologist. B/p drop to 59/30 explaining dizziness when first standing but not continuous. My sleep has been way off lately and it has seemed worse. I go to bed late and get up early to put daughter on bus then lay back down for a few hours. I stay sleepy all time even now that im off the klonopin... Im just lost on whole situation About to lost everything including wife

  • @bwelmhouse1 I seem to have a lot of the same symptoms as you, but I find the sleeping the most interesting. I know that should be the least interesting, however I think it says a lot toward balance in the body? I have to think more on that and watch the rest of your videos. Thanks for posting videos.

  • Do you have a weird feeling in your mouth when your unsteady feeling takes over???? Ive been fighting this for about 8 years.. It started by a severe dizzy spell and turned in to severe anxiety and depression.. I took klonopins for a long time then last summer i had another bad dizzy spell and its been down hill from there.. It has become constant unsteadiness and i noticed i have a weird dry feeling in my mouth at same time.. Its to the point now wwhere i cant even drive...

  • Do you have any history of migraines at all? The being sensitive to light made me wonder. Although when I feel very anxious, I do get light sensitive. So I always carry sunglasses with me. That is odd though if you've never had dizzy spells before, but there is a first time for everything. My doctor once thought maybe allergies were causing my dizziness.

  • It's not so much dizziness as it is feeling consumed by this tightness. My nerves go haywire. My anxiety takes a almost complete control of me. It's starting to build up in me right now as I write this. I can't keep dealing with it man, :/

  • Is there a therapist you can see? I always recommend seeking therapy as soon as it interferes with your life or quality of living. It's definitely worth it if you can afford one or your insurance will cover it. There's a great book I recommend to everyone called, "Anxiety and Phobia Workbook." That book has really helped me. In the meantime, practice deep breathing and relaxing your body when you feel these episodes coming on.

  • Also, check out video #40 "Coping Statements". There are many elements to overcoming anxiety. The key is to use the correct combination of them and you can overcome your anxiety.

  • I was just wondering if you have any tips for me? I want this feeling to go away, man. It is ripping my life and my mind apart. It's so hard to deal with :/

  • Well, the dizziness for some people and for me anyway, is hard to deal with. If your dizziness is actually caused by your anxiety, reassure yourself that it isn't dangerous and that it's just a symptom of anxiety. I'm assuming your dizziness is caused by the anxiety?

  • Hey I hear aroma therapy can help when you feel stress or anxiety coming on. It is supposed to help your mind and yourself relax. Peaceful sounds of music can possibly have the same effect. I am 15 years old going into High School in 2 weeks and for the past week, I've had a huge anxiety attack, I mean it was really bad. Since than I've been feeling the "after-shocks" if you will. It's a very uncomfortable feeling for me, gets me so scared and nerved up.

  • Great to hear your story~!

  • I have the same problem for the last 18 years.

It all started with a panic attack, and since then i've been having dizziness. I've been taking medication to help with the anxiety and dizziness. It has been the only way to stop my dizziness.

  • Sounds like the dizziness is caused by the anxiety, perhaps? Just curious, what meds do you take for the dizziness?

  • I've been taking Bromazepam. There are times that i'm better so i'm able to reduce the dose, and the other way around.

  • yes, you're right about dizziness; it triggers alot of anxiety for me too. In the past 2 years i had to deal with it constantly and also headache too. But i've done better for a few months now, it just seems to go away little by little.

  • Do you know what caused yours?

  • It could probaply the stress that i had at that time.

  • I want to send you a scanned document that may just help you on this subject, however, youtube doesn't allow you to send attachments in messages... You'd think for 1.6 billion dollars this site would have that capability lol

  • I've had a stressful last couple of months and lately have had my anxiety resurface. I have been experiencing these off-balanced feelings and it gets really disturbing like I'm going to pass out. But I never do. I think this is related to breathing incorrectly. Of course the more I focus on these sensations the more they bother me.

  • Yeah, sometimes breathing incorrectly will cause or make worse your dizziness. But anxiety itself can cause a physiological response of dizziness. Ignoring the dizziness is helpful. Learning how not to fear it is the hard part.

  • Yes, the fear of fear is definitely the problem. That worry about becoming anxious leads to what we don't want: anxiousness. A bad habit it is.

You mentioned about your troubles with buildings & public places. I have bad issues with grocery stores, Wal Marts and any other large enclosure. I also have problems in outside public areas and if I get too far away from my 'safety' (ie car) then I start feeling symptoms.

  • Very common w/ us agoraphobics.

  • I used to get that weird dizzy feeling in the store but I don't get it much now. I think that the thyroid med I am on is causing my mild head zaps. Like being hit by a wave and then goes away.

  • Are the zaps a scary kind of sensation? Or more just startling?

  • Startling mostly, a bit worrisome.

  • This is very common when getting off of SRI drugs (Zoloft, Prozac, etc).

  • Hi Seth :-)

..this is my worst symptom too..hence my agoraphobia .I might start keeping a record of when I get dizzy to see if there is a regular pattern or if its worst in different seasons..its the only symptom that beats me and makes my progress a lot harder and I agree with everything you said..if the dizziness could be sorted that would be half or 3/4 of our problems gone...fingers-crossed for a dizziness free life x

  • Did you develop dizzy spells also, separate from anxiety originally? Or did it lead to the agoraphobia part of it and the other type(s) of anxiety was/were already there? There's been links to agoraphobia and inner ear disturbances. Very interesting stuff indeed.

  • When i'm at work sometimes i get these really bad dizzy spells. It will throw me off and a lot of the time i will start to have anxiety while it's happening. I then have to take a few deep breaths and calm myself down so that it won't turn into a full blown panic attack. Dizzy spells suck. And just like you i don't really know why i have them. Maybe it has to do with the way i breathe.

Thanks for the nice message you sent me the other day :) it REALLY helped me to feel better. u r the best!

  • I remember you telling me about those things. They do suck indeed. It's like another layer of anxiety-provoking trouble that just loves to get in the way of progress. The last two days I've had the worst dizziness I've had in a very long time. I couldn't go out at all. Almost like a migraine of the inner ear.

  • I had problems with dizziness after I developed anxiety. And I understand what you mean about the vicious cycle: dizziness triggers anxiety and anxiety can trigger dizziness. And yes, I know how you feel- if I could get rid of this I would be so much better.

  • Exactly. If it's caused only by the anxiety, then tackling the anxiety will cure that part of it. In my case, I unfortunately have an element of dizziness not caused by anxiety. I have two battles to fight.

  • I wanted to ask you. Do you feel more dizzy when you are in warmer temperatures? MS patients do not tolerate being hot well at all. It makes symptoms worse. So just something to pay attention to. If you are worried about that.
