MAN we used to see some GREAT Music there! And some years we STILL do!
THe Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, Liam and Tommy, The Cheiftains, Scooner Fair, De Dannon, The Wolftones, Stockton's Wing, {The FIRST Celtic RockBand to EVER Play at Irishfest!} Our own local Blarney, The Irish Rovers, Wolfstone, Seven Nations......
TOO many to name, but ALL gave us Great memories!
I was THERE! {or HERE!} I have been to EVERY Irishfest since they began and I can't wait untill it comes around again, but since the passing of GREATS like Liam and Tommy, {whom both became friends of mine over the years of going to Irishfest}
and the passing of my Parents, sister and Irish born Grandfather........
it isn't quite the same. I write this with tears in my eyes, because there are so many memories wrapped up with these preformers, this song, and this festival.
One of my favorite songs. I first heard it done by The Shaw Brothers of New Hampshire. Interesting to see the difference between the 2 performances. The Shaw Brothers keep the tempo up in the chorus. Both are beautiful-just different:-) Thank you for putting this on. I miss the singers no longer living. 2 of the 5 are gone. So glad we have this!

I also got to session with The GReat "Cheiftains" around this time too!

A wonderful song which I have known for over 30 years. I learned it from a duo known as Cashman and West. I wish their version was on here!

"Sees her unborn children in his eyes"
One of the most powerful lyrics I've heard.
