There is no possible way, in my judgement, that Booth survived. If you read about who he was a person, his beliefs, convictions, what he wanted to achieve because of his actions, and his diary and desire to BE HEARD (for goodness sake, look what he did in order to be heard!), it just doesn't make sense that he would have remained silent had he survived. To insinuate he would have, I believe, would be an offense to what he was trying to accomplish, right or wrong.

No, Davis's "delegates" were sent armed, and with no intention of setteling on terms of readmission to the Union, or on any terms of changing slavery laws. Jefferson would have been happy to reopen the north atlantic slave trade. Any accurate historian will tell you Jefferson Davis did not run the south, General Lee did.

Lincoln declared war WITHOUT congress' conmsent, in fact he SUSPENDED congress for 3 months, ARRESTED anyone who oppossed him, shut down 500 newspresses for speaking against him, And declaring Martial Law in Maryland. Actually I have. THe theory is that Booth did escape into the woods of Maryland and because tyhey needed a body to call as Booth they claimed the m,an in the barn they shot was Booth. They think that because a Union Soldier reported the man that was shot in the burning barn had red hair and freckles. Yet Booth had brown hair and no freckles. Very interesting theory. Who knows it might be true

The Confederate Congress gave COMPLETE NOTICE to the occupiers in Fort Sumter to get out within 40 days. You had 1 1/3 ,months to get out, occupation is an act of war. You purposely occupied the fort, so it's quite evident the Union wanted to fight. Also Fort Sumter was NOT the first shot, the Union overthrew 2 state governments by military forced and put an entire state under Martial law. yet another act of war.
