  • This is NOT about the USA positions. The issue here is the STAFF positions inside the Justice Department, for which the selection process is supposed to be non-partisan.

  • I don't think its earth shattering news that an administration would put their own people in these USA positions. Every administration does that. It's a shitty deal to replace them for political reasons, which I totally believe happened in the case of the infamous 8 in Gonzogate, but all administrations want their own in key (appointed) positions. As Pelosi said, "elections have consequences."

  • To expand on the "picture ID is a poll tax" ruling, it's been found that large numbers of poor and elderly folks do not have picture IDs (like driver's licenses) and that the $20 registration fee amounts to a poll tax. The larger point is that the picture ID requirement will really only prevent people from casting someone else's ballot. And there aren't too many cases of this...
