That striker has a nice cat 900 hp engine. But that T-3000's detroit diesel 8v92TA sounds so loud I turned my speakers down a little. Music to my ears.
I've always wondered why are arff trucks always soooooo poorly lit? What if they need to travel on the streets? Peple would probably pull over anyway because of the size, but still...
Stupid question, but I always wondered about the little lights on the ground around the edges of the runways / taxiways that appear to be metal with the half egg shaped light at the top... would those puncture a tire if run over or are they designed in such a manner as to break off or sink down?
They would be crushed and with how thick the tires are it wouldn't/shouldn't puncture them but there is that 1 in a million chance. there are also recessed ones that sit pretty much flush to the ground instead of being raised but they're less common than the ones your speaking of.
@mattysmama Smoke in the cockpit could potentially become catastophic...back in the mid 80's a plane landed in Columbus Ohio with SIC and ended up bursting in to flames as soon as the doors opened, burning 3/4 of the passengers before they had a chance to escape.
Man those detroit diesels sound amazing like: "ARGGGGGGGUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHGHHHHHGHGHHHHH"

I wish they had the p-15 airport fire truck
ANTtheVFirefighter 2 years ago
Yea but I like the T-3000's better though.
Jared1452 2 years ago
I like the p15 because it carries alot of water and foam. About 3,000 gallons more than the T-3000. It maybe old but they can still upgrade it.
T-3000=3,100 gallon tank
P15=6,100 gallon tank

ARFF trucks don't usually leave the airports...but when they do, trust me, people do get out of there way.

why did they send four trucks, for smoke in a cockpit, what if they just sent two?
mattysmama 3 years ago
actually 5 trucks is the operating procedure
if it an actual fire....two would not have been enough
