Do you think the Mach 2 XT Barbel Avon/Quiver rod would be OK on the none tidal stretches of the Trent. The rods state 10lb main line would it be suitable for 12lb lines. Regards

I have never been fishing for Barbel, they do look like great fish to catch an look like good fighting fish. dose any one know the nearest river in lincs to angle for them?

Head for the Trent. Laughton or Collingham. Amazing fish to hook and eventually land, let me know if you need any more advice.
